I pm'd Jamie the other day and she's fine and wants to say hi to everyone. She's been doing some killer shifts of 14 hours in length 7 days a week. No wonder she hasn't had time to do anything.....she hopes that everyone is doing well and although she isn't here, thinks of everyone and misses the forum. Unfortunately, her shifts aren't likely to change for some time. So don't worry about her...all is well.
Managed to dust off my 3 mile walking tape this morning and although I was interrupted several times, I finished the workout. It was better than I thought. I feel bad for having it now over 4 months and never taking it out of the wrapper until today. I watched Dr. Phil today and finally he has drummed it into me about INTENTIONAL EXCERCISE!!! He had some of the people from his 10wk boot camp on and midway, they have lost between 7-13 lbs and lots of inches. I sat there saying...wow, that could have been me!!! So until the weather gets better I will be popping this tape in and logging my 3 miles!!!! this is my solemn promise!!!

I have never been a sweet eater but since I started Atkins that is what I want more than my salty snacks sometimes. Very weird. I have been a good girl today though...no sweets! WOOHOO....now to fight with the evil Wine Monster tonight.

For those battling the chocolate monster.... I am THE WORST at avoiding chocolate - but i've also noticed if I stay on plan 100% and do not allow even a spec to cross my lips I am MUCH better off! I don't crave it etc. Worse yet is my choc. cravings are typically at night. This past weekend I had to make "Puppy Chow" for a birthday party and my dh was laughing that I COULD NOT make it on Friday night like planned. I KNEW that if I made it in the evening I would not be able to pass it up. SO I purposely got up at 6AM and made it Sat. morning. I don't feel the need to eat anything that early in the day and it worked like a charm. There is still a full bucket in my home - but I am ignoring it completely. It's in a tupperware so I can't smell it!
If I am REALLY dying for chocolate I will take some Redi Whip whip cream in a cup and sprinkle in about a tsp. of sugar free jello chocolate pudding and mix it up. It kind of tastes like a choc. mousse. But most times I am better off avoiding any choc. tastes altogether.
Waiting for some more snow tonight and tomorrow. We had 3 inches today! Yipee!!!
Shimma: I also have to go to the teachers' lounge to get my mail, and it's the same scenario -- a table loaded with the very things I won't allow myself to eat. Last year, I parked myself at one of the tables and worked my way through 6 (yes, 6) Krispy Cremes before work even started. I didn't spend too much time scratching my head a few months later, wondering where my 3rd stomach roll or my thunder thighs came from. Like anyone could be unique for a change and put out a veggie plate? Luckily, my work study students are the ones sorting the mail, so they are nice enough to bring mine to me now, at my request!!!
Oh -- forgot to ask a question that's been on my mind. I KNOW I saw this just a week or so ago in one of the posts, but I'm having trouble finding it there, in the book, or on the Atkins website:
What is the appropriate ratio (general ballpark) of carbs/protein/fat? I've been using FitDay and would like to see how I'm doing on achieving the maximum level. I've never really worried about it before, but rather have concentrated solely on the number of carbs. Of course, now that I want to know, I can't find the information any where! Can anyone help?

Jane......Yes, I'm back on the site. After I pm'd you, I also pm'd Suzanne3FC and she told me alot of other users were also having trouble. She adjusted something and within a few hours, I was good as new!!! Thanks again for your help!!
Well, I had intentions of collecting all of our sleds that the boys were using all day and hitting the hill with them but along the way a neighbour called out to me to come in out of the cold. And then the next thing I knew.....wine was offered and h'or deuves were set out !!! I really did go out to play with the boys...hehe, it was so yummy!!! She took a bar of cream cheese and poured a seafood sauce over it and then emptied a can of lump crabmeat on the top of it all. I was hesitant to try it as she served it with crackers but next thing I knew she brought out slices of pepperoni. Being on atkins and all....it didn't add that many carbs!!!! I did try to scrape off the seafood sauce but still.... I'll have to remember that one, nice and easy.

This weekend at costco I found the love of my life.....foster farms hot & spicy buffalo wings they are only 1 carb per 4 wings!! ONLY 1 CARB!!! I love them! and only 10$ for a HUGE bag! Bonus!
They had salmon on sale too and DH made it for dinner last night, it was so good!
Tomorrow for training I get to drive around with an installer all day and see how they hook up and disconnect the cable! that should be fun!! After I get established more at my new job I have been thinking about going back to school since they will pay you a company tuition grant to go to school! Might be something to think about! FUN FUN FUN.
