There's a reason why I don't eat it all that much. I've replaced it with a handful of almonds

Exactly!! If someone in my house pops some, I grab a tiny bowl and have a little without worry. I may not know how many calories I'm eating, but I know it's not all that much.

I totally agree. Can't they just say how much is in the freaking bag?? Tell me the calorie count of the entire thing and then I'll divide it up, or something..

Well, I've been mainly sticking to those 100cal bags or movie theater popcorn on the rare chance I feel like some.

Q: If a kernel of popcorn travels 27.2 miles to the east, picks up his friends, popcorn kernels x and y while standing at a 16 degree angle, drives 15 kilometers to the south and 100 ft down over a bridge, how many total calories would those kernels have if popped over 15.3 seconds on a 150 degree stove top on leap year of 2080.

A: none as the world is ending today.

Seriously, you probablly aren't being as bad as I am .. my hubby makes the
popcorn here, he informed me last night my 3-4C habit of the fluffy stuff is
really more like 12. I hope he is joking. I haven't gained weight from it,
however I might lose faster if I slow down on it.

Perhaps it's 3 tbsp unpopped vs. 5 cups popped?

I only cook popcorn on the stove. Will you tell me your "recipe"? How much coconut oil do you use and how much popcorn? What is the calorie count?
Thanks!

I also have a Wirley Pop stove top popper I don't use anymore since getting my theater machine. I believe it's 1 TBS coconut oil...let heat for 5 mins. Then put in popcorn (half cup). So that gives us 3- 4 cups servings. So I count 1 tsp coconut oil and 4 cups air popped popcorn. Then I spray it with Pam (I use Market basket brand) while hot and salt. They have no calorie shaker flavoring too, you could try. I make popcorn most nights and sometimes more than that. My kids LOVE my popcorn!!!

Microwave popcorn from scratch. YES, really! Control what goes in, control the weight of the kernels (it's a bit more exact than measuring spoons) and you'll know exactly what's in that bag you're eating.

I've been making microwave popcorn in a brown paperbag for ages. It is so much cheaper than pre-packaged, no clean up like when you use a popper since the bag is your bowl and you just toss it after, you know exactly how much you are eating if you pre-measure your kernals, and there is no need for any butter or fats.

Best snack ever!
