  • Yaay, 1987!! That must have been a fantastic feeling. What did you buy?? Oh my gosh, shopping spree time!

I had an OK day, in general. In terms of eating, I was busy this morning so after a healthy breakfast I had only time for a small lunch which was a cheese scone (it was absolutely lovely though!!) until 3pm. I got quite hungry then and wanted to get some food but I passed Dixie Chicken (my nemisis!!) and went to Subway... it always seems like the healthy fastfood choice no? I got a 12inch veggie one.

At home I cooked a big pan of one of my favourite recipes, sopa fideos especial I call it, casera I have bread too, to serve. I managed to eat only a modest portion today, the rest left for during the week.

There were a few snacks that happened hmmmm... a chocolate bar and a few biscuits. I am doing OK though.

Hehe yes it was! I just had a look on the H&M website but they don't have the dresses I bought, boo

I will wear one of them to work tomorrow. New clothes make me feel gooood

God I love Subway, definitely a healthier option depending on what you go for filling, sauce and bread wise.

My personal fave is a 6 inch tuna on honey oat bread with lettuce, cucumber, sweetcorn, pepper and light mayo yum!
  • 1987 - That sub sounds delicious. I loooove tuna lol How many cals etc do you reckon are in that? I'm not usually near a subway these days but will bare it in mind the next time I'm in the city lol.

Well for those of you on mfp might have seen, I'm upping my cals again. after this headache that has only just eased after eating some extra banana bread and an extra coffee. *sigh* but thanks to TC, I've already had a mini pep talk and if it stops this stupid head fuzzy ness and i still lose at a good rate (which i should, because I was before I lowered it) its all good. Gives me an excuse to NOT weigh again until Thursday too lol

Jose - sounds like you're starting to get the hang of portion control which is great! We've got to do something about that sweet tooth tho lol naaah it'll all slot into place soon xxx

    Oh it is!

According to their site, the following equates to 377 cals:

6" tuna sub with wheat bread, cheese, lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, green peppers and onions.

Not sure exactly what mine is though, as I have different bread and salad options. However 377 cals isn't too bad considering it's a treat!
  • Hm, Subway's sounding intriguing. I may have to investigate next time I treat myself to a big sandwich. Usually I go to a deli round the corner and get chicken mayo, bacon, lettuce and onion on a wholegrain baguette (not sure how long it is, looks about 8"). Had one the other day and worried about the calories so much that I ended up having half for lunch and half for tea. But actually, it's only really the mayonnaise to watch out for in there, isn't it?

Not the best day for me in terms of healthiness. A small cheese sandwich and a strawberry milkshake for breakfast - ten decent sized strawberries and 250ml of semi skimmed in the blender, lovely. I had a bag of frazzles, because the hangover tummy demanded salt, and they're bacon flavour - bacon makes everything better, including hangovers. And we just had tea - two slices of bacon (I was naughty and ate the fat too), two eggs (fried in fry-lite instead of oil), and some cheesy beans.

Actually, looking at it like that, it's not that bad, is it? I'm having a day off exercise today too though, after ten days of every day.

Well done on resisting Dixie Chicken, Jose! So what goes into sopa fideos especial?

1987 - awesome news on the dresses! It's good to see that sometimes wonky clothes sizes from one shop to the next can work out well.
  • Noodles, chicken, sofrito, sproated corn, I put also a whole load of vegetables in for a new twist!
  • 1987 - I just had a clothes moment too!! Sis in law brought round some old tops that are too big now (she's losing as well) and I can get into a 20 from debenhams!! I've never shopped for clothes in there before... but I think I might as soon as i have some extra cash woo hoo!!

Ahem... all set for my increased cal day tomorrow. Hoping that will kick the fuzzy head syndrome and also might help ne sleep better... Who knows ttfn xxx

Going to a local deli is probably a more ethical thing to do than head to a big corp for food but it is very useful that the calories tend to be well documented at Subway!

That baguette sounds yummy. Yeah mayo is a killer, I wish everywhere used light mayo by default. Or I wish I could avoid it altogether!

I find eating in independent cafes, restaurants etc. quite annoying as there is no indication of calories and I have to rely on my best guess. Shame it's not a legal requirement to list nutritional info everywhere here.

Hooray for happy clothes moments, it's all well and good seeing the scale go down but fitting into smaller clothes is a massive ego boost! Well done

I took my measurements tonight after over a month and I have lost 2 inches on my waist, hips and bust. I am like this today haha. My happier mood also encouraged me to do 10 minutes extra on my exercise bike this evening too.

Loving this forum for keeping me on the straight and narrow
  • Hello all! I think a big congrats is in order for everyone!

Jose, I want to say well done for keeping inside your calorie allowance, and for adding lots of vegetables to your recipe! That'll make it healthier, less calories than adding other things, and more filling. How was it?

1987, major congrats for all those inches off you! I really must start measuring myself and not relying on the scale so much. I can just imagine how accomplished you must feel.

Lozz - I'm so happy for you, dropping all those sizes!! You must be so stoked! Just imagine how many more sizes we can drop before summer's over!

As for me, I did the third session of my strength training program at the gym. I discovered that I hate the rowing machine with a passion. On the plus side, I'm getting some solid shoulder and bicep definition. Can't wait for boxing class on Thursday!
  • Oh wow, Lozz, 1987, how exciting to find you body shrinking and going down in the sizes. You will both look even more wonderful for the confidence that comes from wearing the next size down! I hope this happens for me soon enough.

You are such a Gymbunny MM, lol! Boxing? Wow! Do you find people nice and welcoming at the gym?

The soup was nice, I still have plenty left for the next few days too.
I am thinking about going swimming soon, if I can find something I'd feel OK wearing in the pool and am feeling DARING!!
    xxx
  • 1987 congrats on the dresses, bet that felt great!

Lozz glad to hear your headache is gone and i hope you sleep well and feel better tomorrow, don't worry about the extra cals i am on 1600 and losing so im sure you will be fine

Jose well done for sticking to your calorie allowance, i loooove subway but my fave is cheese steak, not the most healthy haha, but their tuna, chicken breast and turkey subs are all great too

TC i love your takeaway choice sounds super yummy, good for you taking a well deserved break

i was having a good day, went out with my mum and resisted all the foodie temptation, including starbucks mcdonalds burger king and a thorntons ice cream my mum offered to buy me like 5 million times lol. then got told by the garage my car needs a lot of work done to it so may have to get rid if its too much so now i feel really stressed out. diet hasnt suffered though because when they told me i felt too sick to eat, silver linings n all that hope tomorrow is a better day but not holding my breath as they are phoning me with a price
  • Good morning everyone! I dropped another pound today, so I'm down to 165! Feeling cheerful and ready for a late breakfast and some afternoon Tai Chi!
  • well done everybody!!!
    good morning all.
Wow a size 20 Lozz and in a normal shop!!! I mean not Evans or Anne Harvey etc!!!
Joselo every bit of knowledge you gain will help in the fight.....knowledge is power!!!I go swimming once a week and do 40 lengths (slowly!) in my cozzie and swimming hat I look somewhat like a boiled egg but I don't care!!
    MM keep up the exercise!
My walking is going well although my arthritic knee gets a bit grumpy! Am up to 3.3 miles( ain't google maps great!) and my goal is 4 miles the end of next week.
Bit of a tough time for me as my Mum died 5 years ago tomorrow, a day after her 64th birthday of a nasty type of dementia called Picks Disease. So today would have been her 69th birthday and tomorrow is the anniversary of her death. Usually turn to the usual chocolate/dorritos/pizza combo for support ...you know the drill! Hoping to avoid......send me positive vibes people!!!!!
    Have a good day!
  • mountain walker - so sorry to hear of your mum passing away, but i am sure she is looking down at you so proud of all you are acheiving keep up the good work i work with older adults in a residential home and we have a lot of people living there with dementia, it really is one of the cruelest illnesses.
  • I've got my fingers crossed for you getting through the day okay, mountain walker. Dementia's a terrible thing. The disease my mother has often goes hand in hand with dementia, and watching her get worse is the hardest thing I've ever done.

Normal service has been resumed here - yesterday's awesome drop on the scales has completely disappeared, and I'm back up to 14st 13lbs. But at least it's under 15, and I got my ticker today!
