  • First Carol, LOL you know me all too well. I surely did tell my son to make the popcorn in a pot and that he did Not bad and I am still eating it today. If it were microwave popcorn it would be too soft to eat the next day but this still has it's crunch, who knew ... oh you all did

Jacqui, I may have to do that. Try 6 days slow carb and 1 day carb day. Maybe I'll go to the library and get the book when I go out later. Did you find the scale?

Mars the Ninja IQ is blender that has the food processor part/container/mixer with it and they have an auto shut off when it is blended to the setting you pushed. Now this Quick Whisk is amazing. I can put 1/4 cup of skim milk in a cup and make my own froth. All you do it keep putting the top of it and it spending clock/counter clockwise and it's done in no time at all. Mars, I want some turkey chili. I saw in BJ's yesterday that Panera makes some already prepared. I so wanted to get, but have to wait.

    ok up .7 to 171.7
  • Rennie, I would not get the book. It's huge, and has way more information in it than you ever want to know! There is so much more to this 4 Hour Diet (Slow Carb) than just what to eat. Here are some sites I found really quick, and you can google and get more if you want.

    http://www.findingmyfitness.com/2013...arb-food-list/

    http://fitnessblackbook.com/main/the...s-on-the-diet/

    http://fourhourworkweek.com/2007/04/...-any-exercise/

There are even whole forums online for this diet.
  • By the way, we had to take my dog Rusty to the vet. They "admitted" him for surgery on ruptured anal glands. So that's all I know until they call to let me know how it went and when he can come home.
  • ok Carol and Jacqui starting tomorrow I WILL do as I am supposed to ... if I have any hiccups I will let you know.
  • Carol what in the world?? sounds painful. Hope everything goes well
  • Carol Sue, oh, I am so sorry about Rusty. I hope he does well! How awful! About the Cardioglide, I'm not sure about the newer models, but my 1980's one is exactly as you describe your Bodyglide. That's good information to know about it working on the thigh muscles which help with standing up.

Rennie, good for you on getting started on the Slow Carb Diet again! I agree with Carol Sue. I wouldn't bother with the book. From what I hear, only a very small portion of it deals with the Slow Carb Diet, and it looks like the links that Carol Sue provided contain the information you need. I hope it works for you! It does take some willpower only to eat the tempting foods on that one day, but you can do it!

Mars, thanks! Yes, the drive always has some pretty scenery but the trees were not turning colors just yet. It's still too warm. Thank you so much for the info on the light boxes! Good luck on your weigh-in tomorrow!

I weighed myself with my pj's on this morning to try to offset the difference in the scales a little bit, so it won't be such an adjustment when I get back to my home scale. I usually weigh in my birthday suit. Like the last time I used Dad's scale, I'll put my weight in parentheses since I don't know how accurate it is.

  • You know, my line chart was very telling, but it didn't tell the whole story. I started the line chart comparison at 202 lbs, while I started the diets at 211 lbs and 220 lbs, respectively. I thought I was losing at basically the same rate with each, but not really. My monthly comparison tells the real story. I lost 43 lbs in 7 months last time. I lost 43 lbs in 5 months this time. I don't know why I lost so much in this last month, but whatever the reason, I would really like to figure it out!

Its pre-TOM time, and I was actually craving salty food so I thought the kraut would be a good choice with all the good bacteria (I love kraut thought.....I'm a Cinci girl and we usually had it once a week growing up.)

  • I love sauerkraut, but it has to be on top of mashed potatoes with ketchup! So much for sauerkraut!

Jacqui, how much sugar is in those almonds? My Emerald Brand has 1 gm sugar per 1/4 c serving. Not much. Don't like them enough to buy them again.
  • Oh you know, Carol Sue, you're so right! I had checked the list of ingredients but not the amounts. There is only 1 gm of sugar per 100-calorie pack that they come in, but there are 2 gms of fiber so that offsets that little bit of sugar. Thanks! Now I feel good about eating them again!
  • stupid computers, I typed an entire comment (paragraph to Jacqui) and hit the wrong button and poof, gone,

Jacqui, I did pretty well today. Started with a nasty Greek Yogurt smoothie that I had to choke down. yeah it was that bad. Then I had eggs w/ cheese, sausage and black beans for lunch. Just had a fake eggnog smoothie (didn't add the Greek yogurt) but I should have. Don't know what I want for dinner. Maybe more beans, some chicken and idk. Water hasn't been great but I still have a couple of hours before bed. I also decided that I may not do slow carb but do bigjoe's diet, The Simple Diet. It seems to be working for him and seems easy enough to adhere to without a lot of food prep. Can't hurt to try it. You are doing so well you may just weigh 177. Me I would have weighed once in my jammies and then again without just to see Is Fage yogurt bitter? The Chobani is bitter to me. It has a weird after taste even when I add a flavoring. 43lbs in 5 month GO YOU Jacqui I like your roll-up minus the pickle

PrairieQueen, I'm a little kookie huh Your menu does look good.

Carol I like cabbage with ketchup, so so good. My kids eat it like that also How's Rusty?

Weight up a pound 172.7. I knew it would be. I ate a bit of everything yesterday since I knew I would be eating clean today My weigh in tomorrow should be much better

    Hi Mars and Chicky

I wonder if Bewildered and Mary (DairyFairy) are gonna come back? maybe they changed their WOE ...
  • Ok dinner is broccoli, with shredded cabbage and beef. I have no idea what this will taste like. But it's what I have.
