  • Prayers for all!

KAREN since we have been friends a long time and FB together I was a little aware of Mike's situation...however, your post cleared up a lot of "guessing"....I can tell he is loved from the pictures you post!

    ROSEBUD prayers for Cindy continue.
  • I ran across this today...sounds a lot like my Bible at home sometimes...although it is rare a day goes by without me reading something from scripture or "religious" in nature or study...I fail to grab one of the many Bibles I have on a daily basis...

hard to get "fed" without it!

    Diary of a Bible

January: A busy time for me. Most of the family decided to read me through this year. They kept me busy for the first two weeks, but they have forgotten me now.
February: Clean-up time. I was dusted yesterday and put back in my place. My owner did use me for a few minutes last week. He had been in an argument and was looking up some references to prove he was right.

March: Had a busy day first of the month. My owner was elected president of the PTA and used me to prepare for a speech.

April: Grandpa visited us this month. He kept me on his lap for an hour reading 1 Cor. 13. He seems to think more of me than do some people in my own household.

May: I have a few green stains on my pages. Some spring flowers were pressed in my pages.

June: I look like a scrapbook. They have stuffed me full of newspaper clippings- one of the girls was married.

July: They put me in a suitcase today. I guess we are off on vacation. I wish I could stay home; I know I'll be closed up in this thing for at least two weeks.

    August: Still in the suitcase.

September: Back home at last and in my old familiar place. I have a lot of company. Two women's magazine's and four comic books are stacked on top of me. I wish I could be read as much as they are.

October: They read me a little bit today. One of them is sick. Right now I am sitting in the center of the coffee table. I think that the Pastor is coming by for a visit.

November: Back in my old place. Somebody asked today if I were a scrapbook.

December: The family is busy getting ready for the holidays. I guess I'll be covered up under wrapping paper and packages again.... just as I am every Christmas.

"I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me." Psalm 119:93
  • Just got a call again from the caseworker and they did chest X-rays, and blood levels for his meds and everything has come back fine. Usually after these seizures he is really tired and right now, she said he is laughing and alert. So not for sure what it was but they are getting ready to release him and they are going home to get something to eat!!

Thanks for all the prayers and will try to keep you better updated.

Gary, it was a hard decision to leave him there but he is so happy and has his "friends" there. He lives in a duplex where he and two other men are on one side and there are three women on the other side. They get together and bbq and do so many things with him that I would have been afraid to do (being over protective!) But my goodness they have taken him to the Y and did swimming with him and take him to movies and concerts and all these things I just wouldn't be able to do. So in my heart I know he is in a good place and we do get to Colorado at least a couple times a year to see him. But still doesn't make times like these any less stressful!! Thanks for being friends and listening!
  • We haven't heard any more news from Colorado today but thought that I would share a few pics with you. Mike won two Gold Medals in Bowling when he was 15, and then the other is from one of his programs he attends. One a fencing competition they had!! You just have to love them all! Then the other is Tim and I and Mike back in 1973!! WOW!! Just wanted to share

  • Karen, thank you for sharing this great boy with us.
  • KAREN ~ so glad MIKE is doing better; lovely pics of a darling boy! ^Prayers^ continue for MIKE, and his wonderful, wonderful friends!

Thanks for your prayers for my cousin, Cindy. She had called me and I told her we would pray for her. I know she appreciates it very much. Sometimes it's the "unknown" factors that bother us more than anything. Prayers are so comforting at these times.

Thanks, Gary ~ that is really good; I will share that will other family/friends too ... My bibles get used at least two times a day (for morning & evening devotionals); and for studies, research, when praying, sharing, or I have questions, etc.
  • Thanks for all the kind words. I haven't heard anymoreon Mike so I know he is doing fine now.

I continue to send prayers for all concerns here.

And Gary, I too shared that Diary with family and friends. My sister, my Aunt and one cousin have been doing a small Bible study for some time now and really enjoy it. We just started the Book of James with Beth Moore this past week. It is really wonderful and love the time we get to spend together. PLUS my sister started a music club for us that we just started. We are meeting once a month right now and she named our little group "Crazy'bout Grace!" Having lots of fun. Right now we have 8 of us in the group. With 4 keyboards, a grand piano, a snare drum and accordion. AND all of us "try" to sing!!! Just lots of fun!! None of us are Pros but we sure have a good time! So I kindof got of track there... but I have the Bible on my iphone and between the Bible study and reading it everynight not much dust gathers on mine either. This is a picture of the Bible cover that a friend of mine made for me... I just love it.

Everyone have a good night and a wonderful weekend

  • I don't know how I got behind for so long on here! The notices stop coming if I don't check in after a day, so I just think no one is posting ...

We have gotten some rain! thanks for the prayers! Had some more last night it is wonderful! My DH's veggies might make it after all....IF this keeps up.

The car situation is still a mess, but once DH gets our Daughter's "new" car repaired, things will be a bit better.

I got overly tired yesterday, but thanking God I got to sleep in this morning. I can use prayer to figure out what it is. I have an apt at the end of June with a new Dr that I hope can test for hormonal imbalances.
  • I will be serving communion this afternoon at a nearby retirement center. Pray that I will be a blessing to those unable to attend church and partake of communion there.

    DONE!
  • BARGOO ~ ^prayers^ sent for you; I'm sure you will be a blessing to them ...

NELLY ~ a lot of these techie things don't always work out how you think they will. I just check in every day just in case. ^Prayers^ continue every day for your needs, as always.
  • Prayers for everyones concerns. Just wanted to pop in for a minute to give you an update. Got a call from Mike's caseworker in Colorado and he is still doing great! She spent the entire day with him on Friday and said he is just as happy go lucky as he always is. Since all the tests and xrays came out fine at the hospital she is making an appt. with the nuerologist on Monday (tomorrow). I really do like that they keep on top of these problems that arise. Anyway, I wanted to let you all know and will keep you updated as I find out more. Not to worried now though, just another bump in the road for him.
  • That's good to hear, KAREN -- glad that Mike is doing OK. It is so nice that he has such good people around him; that must be a great comfort to you and your DH too ...

UPDATES ~ just wanted to let you know that ERIC SOUTHWARD is doing much better, and is now at home with his wife, Amy. Doctors are doing tests in Boston to try to find out why his heart stopped (at only 25 y/y). Thanks for your prayers.

Also, my great-nephew, Justin M, has had a new job for some time; the update was a little late, but PRZ GOD, He answered our prayers for both him and our nephew, Raymond M, who is doing well with his RCMP training out west. Thanks for your prayers for both of them too.
  • Praise be to God for all the happy updates and answered prayers.

Asking for pryaers today for my cousin, Tammy, and my Aunt Ophy. My aunt has cancer and my cousin has called hospice in. Really hard for my cousin as her and my aunt are very close and always have been plus my cousin lost her husband to a heart attack just 4 months ago.
