  • Good afternoon!!!
    Hiya Peeps!!

Rockin, was it u who asked about my pedometer?? Sorry, I am just swamped lately and forgot. I have an Omron. About $20.00, it's a very simple one. I believe I could put in my stride for distance info, but I got to where I don't care about that at all. I just want to hit my 10k steps daily (which I have done for 4 days at least now, yay!). I do check it by walking with it for 25 steps or so and see how it did. It was one step hi so I pushed the minus sign on it and it slowed down a little. So I'm good. Love that thing. Feel lost when I lose one too. I feel like if I don't have it, then I can't work toward something unless I actually count minutes or miles, which are hard to count all day while you are doing other things. So this helps me count my whole day and then elevate the level by adding steps, if I need to, which can happen all day.

Hope you like yours as much as I like mine. I really depend on it, which may not be so good, but better than depending on food for whatever. Jogging while I'm on the phone doesn't count as much without it.

Oh about weighing. I literally can't stand the way my weight changes so much and I get off track bc I feel bad if I've done great but it doesn't move, etc. So I weigh once a week or once every two weeks, which I think I'm going to go back to. That way, who cares what I weigh?? I am just going to keep going anyway. But if I weigh and it's not down, I feel like what I'm doing isn't enough, I get frustrated.

When I first started losing, do you know I didn't have a scale? So I weighed if I went to the doc and to my kids' doc. LOL. I have calenders from 2004, 2005, and 2006. I can look back and see how often I weighed. It was like once every 3 months. LOL. I just stayed focused on my goal and every time I weighed I was down! 5 lbs one month, 11 lbs another, etc. You get my point. We are going to keep going anyway, why mess with it? I weigh bc I just want to know. I don't even need to know. When you can't wear your clothes bc they are swallowing you whole then you know you are doing well.

I just wanted to share that. It's from my own experience. I did better when I didn't weigh. I did awfully if I weighed more than once a week, daily was just horrible for me. Just see what works best for you. :

The truth is that this is about changing the way we are, for the rest of our lives, not something to monitor for a few months. ( I learned that the hard way, let me tell you.) This is true even more so for those of us who have alot to lose. So why count the days, hours, minutes til we can stop it? I have decided just to go full speed ahead into my new lifestyle, not look back, not let scales slow my resolve, not care how long it takes to get from A to B. I just want to live my life, being happy that I'm in fact going in the right direction, you know? Obsessing makes it really hard for me to think about this being a forever thing. It is less painful for me to change if I do it slowly. Any of you like that too?
  • Awesome job Diva!!! That is a great accomplishment!!
    Keep up the great work!!
  • I had a great NSV today. My size 4 pants felt like they were getting big, falling off all the time etc. so I went to the mall to look at maybe getting new pants. I thought maybe they had stretched. I have not lost ANY weight since I got the size 4 pants... Well today I was fitting 2's easily and 1's a little tight. I guess that just goes to show that the pants-o-meter is better than the scale... I must be doing somethign right!
  • I had to raise my ticker another 3 pounds. I was good today with my calories with my intake at 1300 calories. I walked outside for about 45 minutes.

congrats on the size 2 sakuya! I can't even imagine fitting into something so small
  • Well then Valerie Joy, those three pounds won't stick around for long.

Yup, the pants o'meter is an awesome tool.

I think I have pretty much one good week in. My calories average out under 1550.
  • Hey everyone-
Sakuya great job. I love that clothes can tell us even if the scale is not. I have noticed a pair of jeans that I have are fitting alot better, so that made me feel great!!.

My calories for yesterday were 1220, kinda high compared to my other days but it all averages out to what I want to be around. I worked out again, which is the biggest accomplishment for me yet!! Twice in a row, wow!! Going for the 3rd day today!! Everyone have a good weekend!!!
  • Good Saturday Morning Girls!
Friday's calories...1117 Fat 12%??? I usually have a salad with supper and get my good fat (Olive Oil) in but DH just wanted green beans with his Elk Strogonoff last night.
Vit/Salmon oil, Fiber One, Elk Steak omelet (left-over steak) with celery and salsa, toast...284 cal.
Lunch: Turkey breast Sandwich with lettuce & dijon mustard. 1/2 C. applesauce on 1/2 C FF Cottage Cheese...264 cal.
Supper: Elk Strogonoff with FF Sour Cream, Whole Wheat eggless noodles and green beans...357
Still low on calories so I had a cheesecake pudding with 1 oz. applesauce and FF/SF cool whip on it. This is a great combination, never tried it before. Delicious! Then DH had his nightly bowl of popcorn and the smell over-powered me, but I make air popped for myself and spray with butter flavored spray/Splenda mixed with cinnamon for a nice tastey treat....212 calories
Petra aka Mary... Great calories yesterday. I can say amen to your looking forward to exercising.
    Quote:
Wow never thought that would come out of me.
I've always hated to exercise myself but since joining the Fitness club, it's been not quite so hateful. DH and I were just commenting on how good we feel after exercising.

Susan... I never thought to average out my calories, that would tell a good story. So I just did, my average is 1,085.7 and way too low. I'll have to work at getting it up and not by eating junk food at night to accomplish that. The trouble with me is I like to eat a lot of food and to do that, I eat SF/FF products whenever I can. (No preaching from everyone, O.K?, we already covered that subject a couple of weeks ago.) I just didn't realize how low my average was until I read Susans Averages.
Valerie Joy... Why did you change your ticker? Have you been stuck on the 3 pound gain or do you think it's water retention? I've been one pound up for the last 3 days but will not change my ticker because I've been eating popcorn every night. If you haven't been cheating it'll come right off like Susan said.
Sakuya... Well look at you! I've never been a size 1-2 in my life. I was in a size 4 at my daughters wedding 9 years ago but never a 1-2. Congratulations. Don't you just want to parade around in front of all your friends? You can do that with your friends here on 3FC!
FitChick... You are so pretty! I was wondering if you make separate lunches and night time meals for yourself. You have a big household to cook for with your family and foster kids. Sometimes with large families pasta and rice dishes can stretch the budget but hard on calories. I come from a family of 7 and my mom could make delicious meals for 7 on the size of meat DH and I eat alone. We lived on Goulash and soup! Just kidding, she made something different and from scratch every night and always had jello with fruit or pudding for dessert. It made me wonder how you handle meals at your house.
Diva... I'm so impressed with your body fat. 19.4% is awesome! I have a scale that measures body fat and I can't wait for it to go down. It'll never be below 125, I'm too old and not as active as I used to be.
I've gabbed enough, think I'll go make breakfast.
Have a low calorie week-end everybody.
    Bobbi
  • Total calories yesterday were 1272 with 35% coming from fat (good thing I didn't eat the yolks!) and today is my shoulders day.

Total deficit for January is 11,553 calories and counting! I love my spreadsheet!

Size 1 pants? I thought only Mattel made those for a girl named Barbie.

  • Good morning, ladies. Yesterday I had about 1400 cals with 25% fat. I also did 45 min on the elliptical on the gym. My new plan is to do my darndest to make it to the gym daily. I want to start up yoga at a local studio, but I think I will wait till my cough (just had bronchitis) is almost 100% better. I plan on taking some private lessons to start to work on alternate moves for some of my aches and pains (bad hip and shoulders.) I will work into it slowly.

The goal for today is to eat light as tonight we are going to Lidia's for dinner and I want to be able to enjoy it.

I love the first part of a diet when the weight just falls off. I'm 6 lbs lighter today than I was on Tuesday when I started. And I've been eating 1400-1500 cals, clean foods.

I will stick to that range until eventually it may need changing (when I see a plateau.

Will let you know tomorrow if I did good today...LOL.
  • Saturday's calories came in at 1354 with 25% coming from fat.
  • Hello everyone
My calories yesterday were around 1000. I also did 30 mins on the gazelle and 40 mins of SI6 tapes.
  • Hey guys. I had a bad day today. I was grabbing my purse for work today and slammed my bare foot against a 20 lb weight. So yeah, I broke my toe. The worst part is I had finally worked back up to exercising the way I used to from my knee injury. And now I'll be out of commission for at least a week or two again until my toe sets up enough to use the exercise bike or something. This sucks.
  • Sakuya3834:Sorry to hear about your toe. I can't imagine how painful that is, I have never down it but I have stubbed it before that hurt bad enough.

My calories for today were at 1100. I also did 1 hour on the Gazelle and 30 mins of excerise. So I feel really good about being able to get that done.
