  • I think some people might like to see less chatting about books and such. As long as we keep supporting each other here in our weight loss efforts, it's all good.
  • Quote: I did not need another distraction. Bad enough DS painted his sister with blue nail polish the other day because of 3FC.
OMG I can not stop laughing, and I know it must have been mortifying!

I just thank god daddy wasn't home to see it. I think I have all the evidence cleaned up so he never has to know.

I know some girls can wear a tampon before losing virginity, some can't.
Have you seen the size of those JR tampons? They didn't have those (or any slim line ones) when I was 11 and my Mom's tampons were uncomfortable for me. Anyways, they seriously are the size of a cigarette. I was desperate the other day at work, and being it's a pediatric office and we have little packs for teenage girls, I had to double up on them!

Amarie - It hasn't been above 50 degrees here for days now. We had snow 45 minutes away from us 2 nights ago and 1 guy who set out on a day hike with his wife and a friend actually died on Mt. Rainier yesterday. They were able to rescue his wife and friend this morning. This is June, you don't plan for blizzard conditions. Poor people, just trying to welcome the new season.
  • For some reason my firewall has to be disabled to use plurk?
  • I don't think I will be able to walk tomorrow. Josh killed me in training this morning. I was shaky and weak. I love it when he pushes me so hard. I really do.

That is so sad I feel awful for his wife. Yeah, the snow kinda threw me for a loop, but now its just dreary and rainy, and being as how I'm moving to Eugene in a couple months, I might as well get used to that.

    That is frickin' TERRIBLE.
  • Yeah, you wouldn't expect/plan for those kind of conditions at all. So sad.
  • Okay, ground meat, 80/20 or 90/10 or what... what the heck does all that mean?

    80/20 means 20% Fat
    90/10 means 10% Fat

    You can sometimes find 97/3
  • krjpy- Thanks! I had 80/20 last time and it was a bit more reddish - brown after cooked, this time I had 80/15 but by the time i added sauce and veggies, I couldn't tell a difference in taste.

I tried that once and it was too dry for my liking. Plus I like things well-done.
  • suitejudyblueeyes-
    Advise on your promotion-
    I am not a very assertive person, so I have read a few books on how to persuade people. Also, I am skilled speaker, so here is my best advise. First of all, don't make it about you. It is about how the company will benefit, period. I would speak to your boss something like;

"When are we going to have OUR meeting to discuss my position?"

He/she will be caught off guard, but you will be prepared, don't fill the blank space in time with babble, let that person come up with an answer that they OWE you.
"I really love the work and it comes natural to me, Sears would really benefit from my skills in a management position."
Don't use words like, 'I think or I feel - just get those saying out of your vocabulary if they are, not good talk for business'
Say, "I AM an excellent leader, I AM qualified for the position"
You have got to pin down a time to meet and talk about this, that is very important. Also, be prepared, have a list of things you have learned, ways you have showed your leadership skills and gone ABOVE and beyond what your co-workes are doing (without talking bad about them).
I wouldn't highlight that you are already doing the job, because then they don't NEED to promote you.
"We need to have this meeting, what time is good for you?" I mean they HAVE to answer you, ya know....
    Okay, that's my 2 cents.

    EVERYONE, Check this... http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/show...=143131&page=2
  • So I survived hill training tonight despite a variety of non-running mishaps (I left my family at the wrong soccer field, I got stuck at a train crossing, we forgot to provide snack for the soccer team...the list goes on!).

We did an easy 10-minute run to the hill to warm up then four laps up and down the hill and then 10 minutes back to the parking lot. Holy Hannah those hills get your heart rate up! It's fantastic to be able to increase my workout so much without putting any extra strain on my body though. Including the hills, the run was 5K in 37 minutes so we actually made pretty good time.
