Hi maryea: Randy & I love adventure travel and because we have nothing to tie us down we like to fly places at the drop of a hat. We once got a flight to Puerto Vallarta from our local International Airport (Kelowna) for $2.00 each return because we could leave in a week. That was a couple of years ago for our anniversary. I've been to Japan, the Philippines, Costa Rica, Cuba, Mexico (several times), Italy (several times), France, Germany, England, driven across Canada to the Atlantic coast and back through the Northern US, driven and tent camped and canoed through Alaska, Yukon, and Northwest Territories, flown and driven in Louisiana, Florida, California, Arizona and Nevada.

Gotta make it to South America, Africa, and Australia/New Zealand yet. The food thing while travelling is kind of difficult especially since I have to be gluten free - it REALLY limits my IP choices as well. I get pretty sick of the sweet drink packets since sweets aren't my big thing anyhow. Gimme a big hunk of good aged Cheddar, Parmegiano, or Bleu and I'd be a happy (but fatter) gal. Hope this finds all you ladeez well.

Got to get moving this morning. My sister is picking me up for bible study and one of the ladies (from Viet Nam and had a restaurant over there) is making egg rolls this morning to have there. She is such a good cook and loves to cook for people.

Hello everyone! I'm finally getting here. Welcome Cana! I loved reading about your travels! I love hearing where people have been and sharing our experiences too. Dh and I love to travel and that was one of the things we were determined to do in retirement. When we first retired we would go some place every month even if only to the coast.

We have done quite a lot but still want to do more. Sometimes I wonder whether we will be able to get it all done since I am 70 and he is almost 79, but we will certainly try. I kinda wish we'd done all the overseas stuff when we were younger but we'd still like to go to Israel, Europe and China at least (dh has been to Germany and The Netherlands but I haven't and we have both been to England). We too have been to Mexico several times but only in resort areas although we have taken the usual tours around the areas. Dh loves Mexico as it is much like the Philippines where he was born and raised. In his early years he spoke fluent Spanish and it begins to come back the longer he is in Mexico. I have gone back to the PI twice with him since we retired. He is wanting to go again soon. He used to go by himself (due to lack of money and children) and I told him no more of that after we retired!

Adventure travel sounds great but don't think either of us are up to it at this point. I never was probably really but dh used to be in very good shape and always very athletic which is why despite some difficulties he's had in the last few years he still is in pretty good shape for an old guy. Sadly I do notice the difference though. I also envy your trip to Japan. I've only been in the airport on route to PI.

We've been to Canada several times but only BC mostly Vancouver (love!) and Victoria although we have ventured out a bit. So beautiful! I would like to drive across Canada! We have family in Ontario I think. Once we stayed in a cottage on what I think was called Paradise Lake. Not quite sure where we were LOL but wasn't very far from Vancouver. The couple who owned the cottage were very nice and took us out in their boat. In the states we have driven across the states three times going a couple different routes coming home, exploring a bit on the way. I want to travel the eastern coast sometime to see the fall foliage. We've been to Florida a couple times..once with the younger kids and once just ourselves, doing the tourist stuff. Been to Branson, MO a couple times, and I have family in MO so we go back now and then.

We used to RV but now drive or fly. We have timeshares and often stay in them. CA, AZ and sometimes NV have been our winter stays mostly but I want to explore other warm areas now as well. We don't go to cold climates but I would like to go to Alaska some summer. We plan to go either to DC or Niagara Falls this year. So many places to go and so little time...

Cajun - Sorry you are sick. Hope it goes away soon. Doesn't help to have such cold weather!

Hi everyone. not much going on. my dh buddy came for coffee and the bull was flying. one story after another. they worked together and retired about the same time. they are good for each other. Good morning ladies.....I'm back trying low carbs to see if I can break this so-called plateau I've been on for a while. My extra weight is all around the middle, and so uncomfortable.

I just turned 75 two weeks ago, and really trying to eat healthy. My daughter got me to ditch processed foods, and eat organic when possible. It's not easy but I'm trying. I guess it's never too late.

I don't post often but I enjoy reading and learning from all the posts. Wishing everyone a happy and blessed day!

It's finally Friday! Yippee....it has been a crazy busy week at work, which isn't anything unusual I suppose. Just so ready to be done with it! Still eating one meal a day at lunch, I think my stomach is going to eat my backbone come about 10:00 in the morning. Ha! But other than that I'm not hungry at all.

GiaRose - organic is great, but I don't cook and it's hard to find a place around here that is organic. Wish there was a restaurant that coked only organic, I'd go for sure.

Eating JC food last week did NOT work. I gained a pound. This week, will eat my own food & see what happens.

My computer still has the malware on it. As soon as this course is over, I will take it to Best Buy & hope they can fix it.

I was happy to weigh in at WW today and be down 1.2 pounds for a total of 25 pounds lost! I was especially happy because this week was a struggle due to bad weather and my allergies bothering me. On a few days I just didn't feel like doing anything. But, I managed to walk outside for a few days and I really watched what I ate so it worked out OK.
