    EXERCISE:

Running - 5.4 Miles!!! Hard...very hard. My knee is starting to swell. If this doesn't get better by next week, I may have to stop running for a week.

Dedikayted - Yesterday I tried to do the 100 pushup test, but wasn't sure of something. Are we supposed to see how many pushups we can do over a period of time (like a minute)? Or just try a couple of times and use our max number of pushups without stopping? Gonna try the test again today.

It's worth a mention that when I first started my weight loss journey back in September '10, I could NOT even do 1 pushup!!! I had to start out doing "punk" pushups...otherwise known as "girlie" pushups! So...I know for a FACT that we will progress quicker than we may think...first hand experience!

No, dont time yourself. I think we are supposed to just see how many we can do consecutively before needing to collapse/rest/stop. I will do mine tonight.. I used to be able to crank out at least 15-20... but after not lifting for a while..it may be more like 10, which would put me in rank/column 2. We'll find out tonight!
  • That's how I interpreted it too... as many as you can until you can't any more. I'd like to join you guys, but the test doesn't rank low enough for me! Maybe soon though... I'll try some modified ones until then. I have been jogging though, 3 miles every other day. On a whim, I tested myself yesterday to see how fast I could do just one mile... 11:50! Pretty decent considering! Your exercise posts inspire me and I'm finally getting now the feeling of needing to run!
  • Jennnn!!!! - WOW...that's realllllly great time for a mile. My first mile was ran in 15 mins! Actually...even now, I think I'm still doing about a 12 min mile (yup..slow poke here!) So your up to 9 mins without stopping...your almost there...and I couldn't be more happy for you! Congrats on your weight loss...Almost 70 lbs in less than a year is nothing short than A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

Ok...back to the grrrrrrrrrind! TOM is here This explains why my calories have been up this week and why I've been so "snacky". Good news is that I'm finally finished with my round of antibiotics (which I think slowed my weight loss). So...other than AMAZING cramps today and general feeling of poo...I'll keep on truckin!

  • Hi Joyful,

I hope it's okay for me to post here. I'm new to 3fc (though I joined a while back I never used it) and trying to be a calorie counter. I live overseas so it's not always so easy but am determined to try! I read through your entire thread and let me just say WOW! You are such an inspiration to me!! I love your approach - cooking healthy meals (not starvation) and exercise that focuses on consistency rather than speed! Your progress pics are amazing - you are smoking!! I have really set the goal for myself to eat more cleanly and to be more dedicated to exercise. Thanks so much for the inspiration!! I'll be a regular reader here.
