Hi to everyone, and Happy Belated Mother's Day to all those who celebrate it.
What a weekend. I am still catching my breath. As someone who works full time, I find that Saturday is really the one and only day to DO anything - all the errands, the cleaning, whatever, it all happens on Saturday. And this one was no exception. I was out of the house at 8:00 a.m. and returned for good at 5:00 (with a brief pit stop to drop off newly-purchased groceries).
In the midst of that was another of my son's Little League games. They played an undefeated team, and we were missing 3 players, including the coach's son, who is a monster hitter. Well, we lost, 11-10, in a real heartbreaker. The boys were amazing, though - not one tear shed, and they were cheering and chanting til the bitter end. It was by far their best game...the other team just had some AMAZING fielding plays. We parents were so proud of them and best of all...the kids really understood just how well they played. Still, it would have been sweet to win. Maybe tomorrow night...weather permitting.
I hosted Mother's Day, as always. It was very pleasant, just sitting out on the deck, chatting with my family, and enjoying some sunshine. It was worth all the cooking and cleaning and preparation that went into it. I'm very particular about how I like the house to look when we have guests, even if those guests are "just" family.
I definitely indulged myself, food-wise, yesterday. However, I did send people home with doggie bags, and I brought the excess desserts into the office today, so there isn't much left at home. I really did not have much chance to exercise last week, so I am making that a priority this week! I refused to step on the scale this morning - why belabor the obvious!

However, I'm determined to make this a good week for myself.
Weather here today is not good - way, way too cool for this time of year, and wet as well.
