AC system proposal is $5,000. My SIL is contacting the company to see if there is a cheaper way to go.
In the meantime, I am enjoying the pre-storm breezes.
Have a great day,
Lynn

NOT bored at all. Enjoyed it. Spring flowers and flowering trees are MAGNIFICANT here in Eastern PA this Spring. Maybe because of all the snow this winter? Or, maybe because we were all SO looking forward to Spring this year.

My neck and arm are so sore from these bites. I found a really good pain reliever cream (really good), and that helps. There are no more, and they're very concentrated. No, I don't think I have bed bugs!! Believe me, that was the first thing I thought of and the first thing I searched! They're so pervasive anymore!
Get to a doctor about those bites.

She said, "first question: WHY are you looking at the 2x-3x clothes? That is NOT your size anymore!" We laughed and put all the shirts back and went to the regular sized clothes. Weird!
I ABSOLUTELY know what you mean. I stopped to pick up a pair of jeans yesterday. I started with the size 16’s and ended up with a pair size 10. In the past, I avoided shopping whenever possible & when I did go to a store, I focused on earrings. It’s a NEW life.

I made it through the CPR yesterday. They have made changes to order in which you do things again. When I walked in, there were these garden kneeling pads on the floor ~ the last time ~ they let us stand and do it on a table top. I asked if we had to get down on the floor (that really hurts my knees) and she said that they really want you to do it that way.
I remember that when Michael Jackson died the newscasters kept talking about the fact that the doctor did the CPR on the bed and how he should have been doing it on the floor. Do you think it really makes it more effective to do on the floor vs. a table? Seems like they would be the same.

Hey Lynn. You know it sounds like you’ve pretty much got your eating under control. Sometimes I feel like I do too, but I’m really afraid to get over-confident. And, I’m glad to hear there’s someone else here with a laid-back approach to housework (I feel like a slob in comparison to most of you GGs!).
That storm looks pretty scary (& it’s supposed to be headed my way).

When I was VERY young and first married, I was a VERY consistent cleaner. Did wash on Mondays, ironing on Tuesdays, carpets on Wednesdays, tile floors on Thursdays, and REALLY good kitchen/bathroom cleaning on Fridays. Saturday was just straightening and Sunday was visiting.
Then I took an anthropology course and studied a tribe where the women spent most of their time everyday moving around the cow dung that they used in and around their homes. I decided I did not want to spend my life in this endeavor.
We are also expecting a storm, but I doubt we will get hit by a tornado. Stay safe and if it comes, get into the tub (I know I heard this someplace).

Zoe - glad you shared about 911. I didn't even know you were a counsellor. That must have been quite an experience but I'm sure you were glad to be able to help. I remember that morning...I had just gotten up...everyone else was still in bed (two kids still at home)...and our oldest dd called and said, "mom, America has been attacked!" I hope and pray nothing like that ever happens again.
Lynn - there are 20 grams of protein in this chocolate drink! In my smoothies I usually get at least 13 grams. Plus I eat a little meat at least once a day sometimes up to 4 oz so yes, I think I get enough protein. I'm a pretty healthy eater over all even though I do like junk too.
Glad to see you are maintaining...I should be there with you but you are more disciplined than I am...you and Bobbi. It is taking me a long time to learn to be consistent with my eating, that's my problem.

When I am tracking my food/weight, I use Weight Commander also. I have data in there back to when I weighed 185 lbs. Fun to look at that graph.
9/11 – I was driving to a meeting with local school Principals to try to convince them to have their teachers enroll in my Educational Leadership program. I had the news on my radio and heard a plane had hit the first tower. I figured it had been an accident. Then, I heard the second plane had hit the second tower. My heart dropped. I continued to the planned meeting – the district Superintendent sent all the Principals back to their respective schools to deal with their students – many of the kids in our schools have parents who work in NYC.
The book I am reading about one man’s psychological reactions to 9/11 – Einstein’s Shutter – is interesting. He does NOT focus on feelings about 9/11 – more about other losses in his life after 9/11. However, 9/11 reactions are always hanging around in the background.
I am REALLY NOT disciplined. Because of this, I make MANY rules for myself. I know that if I bring chocolate (even the VERY dark chocolate) into my house, I will eat ALL of it – no discipline at all. My rule is that I cannot bring anything into my house that I have once binged on. I know that when I go to a restaurant, I will NOT order broiled fish/poultry/meat with no sauce and veggies with no butter. So, I order what I want and eat half of it. Also, I do NOT take home “doggie bags.” I am pretty good at following rules, so I use this to help.

The 1st one was dying when we bought the house. It had been thru the no name storm/flood and was harvest gold. The 2nd stove lasted 4 yrs and the oven door locked and wouldn't open. It would have been $500 just for new lock/cp chip. Now this one. So finished dinner on the gas grill and tonight we could not get the gas grill to light..... [/B]
WOW 3 stoves in 11 years! That is tough. Make sure you get an extended warranty on your next one. Your stove must be in a danger zone

Is anyone watching the Royal Wedding? My ex-SIL and I were going to have a slumber party, wear hats with our jammies, watch, wonder, and mock... I'm not sure we're still going to do it, but it does sound like fun!

I am supposed to spend the day with my DF tomorrow. However, I am taping it on BBC on my TIVO.

Unfortunately while raising kids and later traveling we have neglected our home way too much...now everything needs work. I was thinking today that if my dh would leave before me, I would not be able to keep up with all this. It may be time to make a change to a small house or condo, but it is sure hard to give up our home.
