Wow, everyone is in high spirits, it seems! It's great! Maybe we've all got a touch of spring fever.
It's so great to read about everyone's busy lives...everyone has many different things going on, be it work/children/whatever, yet somehow or another we all find a moment to come here and unload and chat and support each other. It's very motivating and it's nice to know we're all in similar boats.
So on the Little League front...my son's team lost again Tuesday night. They're now 0-5. They lost 15-5. I'm not sure which is worse...getting blown out, or losing by one run (which has happened twice). For some reason, it seemed like the kids just weren't into the game. Don't know why. It was a beautiful evening...really mild and dry, just gorgeous. Maybe the kids were just too pooped. But they just seemed "elsewhere." There were a few good moments - they actually turned a double play at one point, which was pretty exciting. When the game ended, one of the coaches promised that as soon as they got their first win, he'll take them all out for ice cream. The coaches are trying to keep the boys' spirits up, at least! Next game is Saturday - 3 boys can't make it, so I am not hopeful. But as always after each loss, if my son is being pissy, I ask him, "Do you still love baseball?" If the answer is yes, that's good enough. He snaps out of it in about 20 minutes (sometimes that ADD actually comes in handy).
Anyway - to all those going through craziness at work - I can relate. At my last job, about 500 people were laid off. My department was untouched BUT we were told that we'd be transferred to another town... in New Jersey!! So I found another job, since the new location would have meant over 4 hours a day in the car. It was sad, I really liked my job and what I did, and I worked with some great people. But as more and more folks around us got laid off, it became very demoralizing. Sometimes I felt as if I had survivor's guilt. And job hunting is the WORST!! It's like going on a blind date over and over again. It all worked out, I've got an even better job at a better company, and I'm with two other people from the old job. I'm only 15 miles from home, which sure helps from a gasoline point of view.
Weight is holding steady this week. It's been hard finding a window of time to exercise so on those days I am super conscious of what's going in my mouth. My birthday's coming up in June and as my present to myself, I'd like to be at least 3 pounds less than I am now. That would be cool!
Irishayes, hello! I like your screen name - clever!
