  • Your fine Amanda, I'm not really a member here but I like it here because everyone seems so nice and so far hasn't kicked me out!!
  • Thought of some more...

    - Celery w/ Fat Free Cream Cheese ( I think I got this one from Howie, and its super yummy!)
    - Dill Pickles
    - Pringles 100 calorie packs (really fills the chip craving)
    - Fruit w/ Fat Free Cool Whip & Raspberry Yogurt Dip

C'mon you guys, lets keep the ideas going!!
  • My husband thinks all my snacks are gross but I've grown to love them LOL

    Air popped pocorn
Hummus on just about anything... LOVE it on caulaflower
    pickles
cottage cheese with some coconut extract, splenda, and pineapple
yogurt, the new light and fit crave control only has 60 cals!
granola bars (kashi are my fav)
a mug of cereal and skim milk
celery stir fried up with some soy sauce... really good, filling, and like no calories!
half coffee half milk... not really a snack but it fills me up when I'm hungry and have no calories left!
    handful of nuts

YUM I think I need to go pop some corn . I use my airpopper everyday! My son loves it too!
  • Today I had an individual serving of cottage cheese & I mixed a packet of Taco Bell Fire Sauce into it. I ate that with a serving (6 crackers) of low sodium triscuits.
  • I've got a sweet tooth so:

    fruit - especially berries
    low-fat pudding cups
ultra low fat cool whip (good with either of the above)
    frozen fruit bars
  • Is cottage cheese really good with spices and herbs in it? It seems strange to me... Though there are a couple of suggestions here for cottage cheese spiced up and eaten with veggies. I'm kind of scared to try it! The only way I've found I like cottage cheese is either with a half banana and some cinnamon in it, or with a little fruit-flavored sf jello mix added and mixed up... I love cottage cheese though, it's definitely a good way to get the protein into a snack!!

I'm with the other ladies who don't really "snack"... I tend to just eat small meals more frequently, as that's what my schedule allows. This is as snacky as I get:

small bowl of high-fiber cereal with lf milk
    sf popcicle
2 pieces of frozen dark chocolate (for those with willpower!)
    a handful of pretzels
apple slices and a bit of sharp cheddar
    hummus with crackers or carrots
  • I have been realy reducing the sodium so I have given up microwave popcorn, but if I happen to be home (I travel 5 days a week) I will make some air popped popcorn. While on the road I do the apple cinnamon rice cakes or the caramel flavored rice cakes, friut is always good. Mini bags of baby carrots, I put 24 natural almonds (no salt) in snack size ziplocks (I know the calories and it keeps me from putting my hand back in the bag for more) seaweed or wasabi rice chip crackers (again counted out in ziplocks) they sound a little strange the seaweed and wasabi crackers but they are really good.

I have found for me that by taking the time to count out the snacks over the weekend so they are handy during the week when I travel has helped alot. There are days when I will be driving to a customer in a different state for 8 to 10 hours on the road or in the airports chasing flights is where I am most vulnerable to overeating so if I have a few snack bags with me I tell myself I will have one of the snacks and if I am still hungry 30 minutes after my snack then I will stop and get something to eat. 9 times out of 10 I wont be hungry after the 30 minutes.
  • Thanks. Lots of great ideas that I never would have thought of. I'm going to try some. I don't have this very often, but it used to really hit the spot when I was south beaching (a very brief moment in time...). Leaf lettuce or spinach rolled with fat free turkey or ham and a little bit of hummous. Yummy!
  • pitted dates, shove 2 almonds inside. YUM!!!!
