  • Hi Georgia Peach!

Good to hear from you! Come join the daily exercisers. I promise you'll feel 100% better.

    Talk to you soon.

    Dena
  • This is quick cause dh wants me upstairs but I biked for a little over an hour with my dad and Emmett and we walked around in the Mall of America for quite awhile. I also did some arm toning work. Have a great night...

  • I did my first official new workout yesterday & it kicked my butt.

Today is step aerobics and abs. Tomorrow is kickboxing and lower body work with weights.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Take care. Sherry
  • Hi everyone!

Sherryi: It sounds like you are getting a lot of variety in your exercise. I just read an article yesterday about how changing your exercise activity can really help keep a person motivated. It sounds like you are really excited about this program - that's great!

Tupo-girl: I've never been to Mall of America but I heard it was huge. How long does it take to walk it?

Dena: Congrats on making Lifetime at WW! That's terrific. Do you mind if I ask how much you had to lose it total to get to your goal? Mine seems so far away - but I just have to focus on that 10%.

Georgia - great to hear from you! I kind of got disgusted with myself and stopped posting. Then at the end of May I started to get regular exercise and started posting on this site. I couldn't find anyone posting on our old site. How are you doing? I think this thread is helping me stay motivated with exercise.

PorkEPine - welcome to this thread and congratulations on your terrific weight loss. My main exercises are swimming, weights, yoga and walking (when it isn't too hot). I feel much better with regular exercise. I just need to keep my eating under control better. Did you follow any particular program for your eating?

Marvin - I don't know if you'll be logging on and see this or not. It was good to hear from you - sorry it's been a few rough weeks. I wish you best of luck on TTC. It took us a while and we had some ups and downs. If you ever need some support and want to discuss, you can send me a private message.

JustDoIt: Your exercise streak sounds like a good motivational tool. I had two days this week where I was too pooped to do any. Sometimes we have off days.

My update: Swam and did arm weights on Wednesday. Didn't do anything Thursday night and also went out to eat at Outback and had some of the deadly Bloomin Onion . Tonight I worked out in the pool for an hour and did arm weights. My body feels good right now. I have been terrible with my sweet tooth this week. I think I'm bummed out because my vacation was over and I was back to work so I made up for it by eating sweets (bad, bad). Tomorrow will be yoga in the AM, then going to my exercising, low-fat eating parent's house. So they will get me back on track!

    Have a good weekend everyone!
  • Hi guys! I haven't posted in a few days because I have been busy getting my classroom ready. And as a result, I have only exercised 3 days this week. But, I figure moving desks and cleaning in my class room count as exercise.

Ok guys, I have been feeling kind of sick this week. Do you think these sound like pregnancy symptoms? I have been awful tired lately, headachey, dizzy on occasion, and sick to my stomach after eating. Oh yeah, my boobs hurt too. Could be some sort of weird virus . I took a pregnancy test this morning and it came up negative. But I'm not supposed to start my period until Sunday. Do pregnancy tests work before you miss your period.? Let me know what you guys think. Maybe all that crazy vacation sex I had is catching up with me.

Copperblu and Marvin it's good to see you're back. We missed you!
    Take care,
    Saggy
  • Hi Saggy - it's been a long time since I was expecting - my daughter's almost 12 but that's how I remember it. I remember being extremely tired (falling asleep on the couch at 9 pm) and having this achiness almost like I had a virus. I only felt like that for a few weeks. As soon as I missed my period I took a home test and it was positive. I went to the Dr. and his test came up Negative! He had me come back in a few days and then it showed positive. It was too early to pick up the hormone change on his test I guess. If you don't get your period Sunday, wait a few days and try the test again.
  • Stamper: The Mall of America is huge. I don't really know how long it takes us to just walk it, maybe an hour or two. We go in stores and eat lunch and what not. Let Emmett play in Lego Land Actually, Dh and I are going tomorrow. It's kind of nice to live so close since we can really get some excercise in!!

Well, I went on a 2 hour bike ride today! Normally a 1 hour bike ride is 12 miles. I went 22 today!!!!!! At one or two points, I was riding at 22 mph also!! YAY! I couldn't have done this a month ago. I also managed to lose 2 pounds this week. I can't tell you how glad I am to finally see the 170's again! And that's with AF showing up yesterday. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
    In Christ,
    Pamela
  • Hi Everyone!

I did a lot of walking over the weekend and have done Body Flex this morning. I just have to get myself to the gym today.

Stamper, you asked how much I lost to get to goal. I lost 44 1/2 lbs. It took me forever (at least a year) to lose the weight. I guess I lose slowly, but I figure it doesn't matter how long it takes as long as it comes off and stays off.

In the beginning, I joined WW and went to their meetings. I really couldn't afford going every week, so I just used their materials and followed it at home for a while, then went back when I was closer to my goal weight. I also use Dietwatch when I need a break from WW. (I have a hard time following just one plan. This way I think I have options. And it doesn't seem so bad.) Dietwatch is a free website that counts your daily caloric intake and gives you lots of nutritional info.

Coming here to the boards really helped me as far as support goes. It wasn't always easy for me. I notice when stress rears its ugly head, I often reach for food. (I'm not as bad as I used to be, because I realize thats what made me heavy. So now I try to exercise instead.) Exercise has helped me tremendously. I always feel so much better afterwards and drinking water has helped a lot, too.

Hang in there, Stamper. We're all in this together. Just keep at it, drink your water and exercise. You will get to goal. I guarantee it!

Hope everyone has a great day!
    (Hugs),
    Dena
