Shelley...I'm here! I just had a very busy weekend. Yard work,cleaning house & laundry. GO LOOK AT THE EXERCISE THREAD!!!!!!!!

Wayne is still sick.Even though he's back at work.This Pneumonia just doesn't want to clear up.Now he can't hardly talk. Still on his meds so hopefully he'll get over this soon.

Ramona...I got chills when I read your post.I agree, there are signs all around us and we don't even realize it. Has hubby got home yet? Are you ok?

Gayle....I'm saying prayers for your Mom. Bless her heart. Give her a big hug from me and take care of yourself too. Love ya!

I went for my mamogram after work today. I hate putting these big ole boobs on that little table and then being SQUEEZED!!!

Shelley, I'm Ms. guilty here, I've been so busy I never posted on the exercise thread. I walked a few more hours then what is posted, must be paying off, I'm down a few pounds. I wish I could stay as motivated with my dieting and exercise as you do.

They drained 700 cc of fluid from moms lungs today. This is her third tap and I'm not sure how many more she will be able to sit through. Each time seems to hurt her worse. The doctors still seem to think eventually the fluid will stop building up, I hope they are right, for moms sake. She is staying in good spirits, hopefully this time won't set her back like the last time.

I'm staying OP, can you believe it??? LOL!!! Actually it isn't hard at all when I don't have the free time to munch. I'm counting calories and making wise food choices. Tomorrow I have yards to mow, so I should do ok staying OP.

Okay, ladies. I am going over to check the exercise thread. Remember, every little bit helps!!

Sorry I haven't been around. My back was really bad this last week but yesterday it started to improve.

Gayle glad to hear that your mom is in good spirits dispite all of her problems. I am praying that this will be her last tap. That was a lot of fluid that they drained. WTG for staying on program. I am so proud of you.

Sherry thanks for asking how I am. Like I said it was a rough week but I am getting better. How long has Wayne been sick? Pneumonia takes so much out of you.

Ramona I believe that we can feel the presense off our love ones once they have past. The benches sound like a good idea.

Carol your diet tips are great encouragers. I printed them out. Thanks. My spirits are not always up when I am in pain but I know that I will have to live with it so I make the most of it.

Shelley sorry for deserting you on the exercise thread. I was walking but just not posting. You are doing great.

Well, my dad made it official today. He is getting married July 1st. I can't say I'm really shocked, I knew deep down inside that it was coming. And if that is what makes him happy, then I'll be supportive. The hard part is that he wants me to start going through the house and moving my mother's things out. He told me to take all of it if I wanted, but she had ornately elaborate Victorian antiques that just wouldn't fit in to our house or our lifestyle. I guess I'll try to find a reputable dealer to help me move them. He hasn't given Jane the ring yet, but he showed it to me tonight. It is an exquisite 4 Carat solitaire. I better sign off now before I fall asleep at the keyboard! Good night everyone.

Ramona-I know this marriage has got to be very tough on you. Good luck on selling your mom's stuff. Would anything fit into anybody else in the family's houses?

Ramona, sweetie, I just needed to post to you before I go to mom's house today. You know, it never matters if we are 5 years old or 50 years old, it bothers us to see a parent with another person other then our other parent. I know mom went out to eat a few times with a man she knew from school, a very nice man, but not my father. Thank goodness it never went any further then a few meals. Not to say if it would of, I would of "sucked it up" and respected mom for her decision. I know you want the very best for your dad, but I also know this bothers you a great deal to know some other woman will now be living in your mothers home and will now be with your father. Know you can send me an email whenever you feel the need to talk. About your moms things... do you have a local museum which may be interested in some of the pieces of furniture??? You could always go to the museum and have access to seeing the pieces your mom loved dearly and it would also be sharing with the public a very special part of your mother. I'm thinking of donating dad's military uniform to one of our museums. Sending you special hugs today!

Shelley, are you feeling better???? Do you think Von is going to win AI? I watched last night and it seemed like she was very nervous. I have a feeling Bo may be the winner. BTW: My mother wanted me to say thank you to your father for saying a prayer for her during her illness, she told several people that "Gayle had a special friend who's father was praying for her". It meant so much to her to have someone she does not know personally, care.

Dee, sorry honey your still in so much pain. Maybe you should consider coming back here to the states and seeing a specialist???? Did Dez make it back for the summer??? I think of you often, sorry I haven't been around and posting like I should.

Ramona I know that your Dad remarrying must be tough. It doesn't mean that he loves your mom any less. He probably is use to living with someone and is just to lonely to be by himself. Bless your heart for wanting what makes your Dad happy.

I think I told y'all here, but didn't go into much detail, that I had filed a complaint against my Manager. To settle the complaint, the Agency is transferring me to a different county. The county that they are sending me to just happens to be HOME. I'll actually be living with Stewart--who lives about 12 miles from the office.

I'm having mixed emotions about the move. I'll miss everyone I've been working with down here for the last year and a half (almost everyone), but up there I'll have my own office and, hopefully, will be left alone to do my job.

Stewart is expecting me to have his supper on the table every night and to be a "good little wife," but I told him last night (after he let me know this) that I won't be home every night, so he'd better get that idea out of his head pretty quick!! I'm already making plans to go back to school to finish my Master's Degree. I'm also going to join a bowling league (man, I've MISSED bowling!!). He'll just have to cope!

I'm not "excited" about the move, because, well, it's a MOVE. I hate moving. Ich. As a part of the deal, the government is not paying any of my moving expenses this time (they helped me move to South AR), so I have to figure out what's gonna happen to my mobile home. Do I want to sell it? Do I want to try to find a lot and rent it out? Find a site on "the lake" and park it there? (yes!! But Stewart's not interested in that option!) Plus, we're now consolidating two houses full of furniture into one home. Ugh, ugh, ugh. It's just not fun!

Anyway, I just wanted to fill in, since I haven't posted in a long time!

Cheryl moving in with someone is always a huge adjustment. It is a good thing that you talked to Steward about expectations. You have some big decisions to make about your mobile home. Sorry I don't know what advise to give you. Maybe you could hang on to it and rent it out.

I am here at work and had a few minutes so I thought I was post.

Gayle:

I am so glad your mother is much better. My dad did not go to a nursing home. We are taking care of him at home. We have an Aid that comes in the mornings through the week. Most of the time my one sister and I take turns spending the night with Mom to help out through the night since Dad is bedridden. The weekends can vary, but most of the time it is again my one sister and I. You would think with 5 girls and 1 boy there would be plenty of help, but alas, 2 live out of state and 1 drives truck for long hauls. Anyway we are managing. Dad has his good days and his bad days. We take them one day at a time. I have been at Mom & Dad's this week since Wednesday. The other sister that helps came down with a bad case of strep so she can't be around Mom or Dad for a few days. Some days it is hard to get through the day at work when I have been up most of the night with Dad, but I am surviving. I am just glad to have every precious second with him that I can.

Mom goes back to the Doctor next week. She had tests run this Wednesday and we get the results back next Wednesday. It will be a telling factor about how her cancer is doing. We are all quite nervous and worried. Mom is doing great though. She gets tired, but we help out as much as possible to alleviate the workload. I am sure you understand how these things work being a hospice worker yourself.

I appreciate all your prayers for my Dad and Mom.

I have been wanting to post a pic of me and my 2 new grandbabies so I will give it a try.
