Virginia...I'd fly out of Dulles Int'l.
See, I'm an ignorant American!
My neighbor that passed away 2 years ago was a gardner also. She actually used to work for a florist here in town in her younger days. She loved her flowers too. When she passed, her sons told me to dig up whatever I wanted (as I had weeded for her and transplanted when she got real bad off health wise) and plant it in my yard -so that they could still enjoy her work when they drove by. I have a whole bunch of Peoney and Hydrangea bushes coming up this year. I hope that they can enjoy them as much as I do. I also have some amaryllis that I planted when her husband (who also passed last year) gave them to me from her funeral. They were in a planter that was sent to the house. They are coming up this year also. It gives me pleasure to know that they wanted me to have them. They said that their mom would have wanted her plants taken care of and they didn't know of anyone else who would appreciate them like I do.
I know she's in heaven lookin' at her plants and tryin' to tell me what to put on 'em to make 'em grow better. I actually came home from work one day and she was puttin' fertilizer on MY plants
(she also planted some hosta around the house that I really didn't want where she put them. But I waited until she passed away to move them
Didn't have the heart to do it with her watchin'
) Lord I miss the two of them.
He is allergic to the lawnmower.
and anyone else that may check in later
I'm pretty sure they have a paved runway too! Just kidding!
It's one of my favourite things to do. And you're right... it's mindless, in a very nice way.
I remember a few years ago when it snowed in June!

) Just joking we do have a paved airport. And Ellis is right the Market is a great place to check out. I will get some more info. Must go as I have a phone call.
