Well I lied! I said I check in every day, but I missed yesterday, and look what I missed!!! 2cute's Birthday!!!





Does this make up for it?

Okay, I'm feeling a little less blue. It just seems like REALLY focussing on weight loss takes all the energy and organizational ability I have, leaving none for everything else I need to do. Does anyone else feel this way?

Leanne--Good for you! You've got your head on straight, girl, and it's inspirational.

Yeah I have felt this way too, Angela ... sometimes feels like I'm spending all my time on me! Instead of doing all the other things I need to do.
A couple of things I've found that help -
1) putting aside a certain time to exercise - so I don't feel guilty for not doing other stuff in that time. It also allows me to concentrate on what I am doing when I am doing it.
2) Another thing I've found that helps is to have a bag that I set aside for exercise. It has everything I need for the morning - shampoo and conditioner, extra toothbrush and toothpaste, hair stuff, deodorant etc ... and I pack in my clothes for the day + two towels (one for my hair!) at night. The next morning I get dressed into my swimmers and a long wraparound skirt, and get the kids ready for school, have breakfast etc, and then put the bag in the car and I'm set. I go for my swim, wrap my skirt around me when I get out, walk across to the showers and have a shower, brush my teeth, get dressed in my clothes for the day and then wrap my wet swimmers and skirt into one of the towels and put it back in my bag. When I get home, I only need to dry the skirt and change the towels and I'm set for the next day too. I know this is only an example, but if I plan to make getting out the door and exercising as easy as possible, I'm more likely to do it.
3) Same as meals - if I can, I plan to eat out where I know they will have reasonable choices, and have a large glass of water before I go. It's weird but if I 'automate' as much as possible, I don't have to think about it and it just becomes part of my lifestyle, and then I have more brainpower to use on other things.

I guess everyone has their own tips and tricks for changing their lifestyle, but these have helped me and I hope it helps someone else!

We had company all day today. It has been years and years since we saw each other last.
We had a really nice visit. I even stayed on program.

I had a wedding shower to go to today so haven't been around much. My dishwasher broke this morning. My cat has taken up nesting in a laundry basket full of CLEAN clothes.....that's about how my life is. How 'bout you???

I'm running to bed. I have 9 "bank jobs" plotted out to pull tomorrow and we're under a severe Winter Weather warning for sleet and freezing rain. Sounds like my kind of day!!!!

Happy birthday Mary....

5 lbs, count them five lbs for the 2x2 challenge. I am so HAPPY! I would have been happier if the scale had moved just a pinch more! I would have been in the 2 hundreds!!! Well, now that is kind of sad isn't it? To be happy to see 299? OMG, if I was on the other side of that number, it would scare out of me to say 299.

I am ready for the next challenge, let's go! I realize I won't lose 5 lbs every time, but this was such a boost. Last week it didn't look as if the scale would move at all and then it just dropped. It has been hard at times to NOT give in to the craving for things like pizza etc., but knowing I am coming here and tell everyone if I have succeded or failed has kind of kept me honest. I say whatever works is a good thing!

Right now I can't remember a thing anyone said in their post, so I will have to come back again after roll call and see what is happening with everyone.

Good morning!

Weigh-in for the 2x2!!

I'm down a whopping .8 pounds. I didn't make the challenge but its the third straight loss for me which is good. This is also the time of month when its hard to make the scale move. I'm motivated to keep working at this. A slow loser is better than none at all!

Here's what I did yesterday to give me motivation to work harder: I signed up to ride in the Tour de Cure to raise money for American Diabetes Assoc. Its a 35 or 70 miles bike ride in June. I can be ready to ride the 35 by then if I keep working hard.

I had kind of a funky weekend. Too much rain and dreariness. Which led to comfort eating on Saturday but at least I kept it to Saturday. I did lots of housework but still so much work to do around the house. Geez, it never ends does it? My rec room has been a disaster since the holidays. I finally started on it yesterday. I am going to work on it a little each day. I'm trying to sort the holiday stuff and maybe thin it out rather than just cram it back into boxes. I may end up cramming it!

We went to see the BIL yesterday. No one else was around. He's doing okay. His speech is coming back very slowly but there is progress. He told us that his son is making him very upset. His son called us the night before and started a big fight. Threatened that he knows where I work. WTF! What an idiot. He works for the furniture company who sets up and moves all our cubes. Threaten to come to my work and make a scene. Go ahead and I'll have security call the police and then I'll go to my best friend at work (who controls the vendor) and tell him that one of our vendor's employees was harassing me at work. Wonder how long he'd have his job? This kid has no brains. The won't seem to die down.

Its Valentines Day! What's everyone doing? Expecting flowers? I told DH that the only thing I wanted was to go see a movie. We haven't been to a movie in forever. Don't need flowers. Don't need dinner out. Popcorn and a movie. Now I'm thinking how the movie will interfere with my evening exercise time. How about saying something nice about our SO's? One reason that I love DH is that, in spite of being a big dumba@@ sometimes, he has such a caring heart. I never ever wonder how he feels about me. He is a such a softie.

I've started logging the losses posted so far. I've picked up some from the weigh-in thread over the weekend. We're at 20+ already this morning. That puts us over 100 pounds lost this year. Woohoo! Keep posting your results.

I got more than I expected for hearts day!
DH knows how disappointed i am that we can't have tulips blooming in our new yard this year, because we couldn't get them planted last Fall. (this town had tulips all over the place last year! just beautiful!) He left 3 pots of red tulips on the breakfast table for me!! What a sweetie!
