  • Hey There
Irishcoda- Welcome...Candice has it right ..grin and bear it,,I talk to myself for awhile until I just give up and do it... The pain will not go away while we sit.. I have oa and believe me after about 20-30 min. the pain does go away..I use my music and try to think about something other than what I am doing.. I plan quilting projects, sewing ideas, think about all the things I can do in the house, etc, and before I know it I have done my hour..Motivate yourself..believe me no one else is going to do it..
Anagram...I hope you and you hubby are feeling better..
Meme- I read an piece in the paper today that says pretty much the same things you do about dieting..I am starting to believe that moderation is the answer. Ofcourse ,I still avoid the white foods most of the time..
    Hello everybody...Joanne
  • Good afternoon-been having problems with my computer since I loaded in my virus protection-it's so slow.....I'll have to take up a hobby while I am waiting for the pages to load.,We wnt to the party last night but only knew my famliy and I didn't feel like socializing so I took Evan for a long walk. Couldn't really eat the food. I Iam still bloated!!!IBS!!! I am going to swim-that's the best med for fibro etc. And walking, if you can. WEnt with DIL this am and bought Evan a booster seat at the thift store and a toy. Church supper tonight. Bye Mima
  • Hi guys,

thanks for the advice ... I was hoping there'd be a magic bullet ... I mean, pill ... But I sort of knew there wasn't. I signed up to do a water fitness class at the community college pool next month. Now I have to convince myself that you guys are right and get on the darn dreadmill. It's true that I ache when I'm just sitting so ... what's the difference?

Hope everyone has a great evening,

    Cassie
  • Yeah, I know how you feel Cassie ... I'm achy, too. Have been for quite awhile now. No fun a'tal! It's usually lessened by Jan. Weather change ... don't know why it's hanging on this year! But ... I keep telling myself it could be worse. I could be in a wheelchair, unable to even walk at all. And if I don't keep moving, that's exactly where I WILL be. You see, I have fibro, Osteo and Rheumatoid Arthritis plus I'm severly anemic. Yet, I still manage to run a small business and teach piano along with all my housework, washing, cooking, shopping and church work and keeping my grandchildren from time to time. That's why I feel so blessed even though I have all these things wrong with me. I'm on Methotrexate along with a few other meds and take Darvocet for severe pain. I also have a Protein S deficiency so I'm on asprin therapy to thin my blood ... have to be careful about what other over-the-counter pain meds I take. Fibro and arthritis can be managed with the right meds, the right balance of exercise and rest and the right attitude. No sense in getting depressed about something you can't stop ... and these conditions can't be stopped ... slowed - perhaps ... not even sure about that. All I'm SURE of is that right now I HURT and I don't feel like exercising so I'm not going to hurt my muscles ... I'll wait until my flare-up calms down.
  • I can deal with all this pain and stuff but it makes me so mad when others do not understand what we go through to appear normal!
.......so I just grin and bear it and come here and whine!!!!!!!!!!!

Got my DS bed stripped finally, he has been gone a week! Put away some Christmas wrapping stuff and carried a few things upstairs but didn't want to drag the boxes out yet. All in time....When I was shaving my legs tonight and I cut my thumb with the razor...ouch..ouch.. sliced right through the nail too..about a 1/4 of an inch down the nail....torture..bamboo shoots..Ha! It hurts.........so Iwill have to keep hands out of water a few days...good thing I cooked earlier this week and got all my chopping and stuff done. Ice galore here...and cold..need a warm cup of tea, already had my cookie so just tea.

Mima..my Ibs is acting up too..never no what it is with all this pelvic pain.
  • I finally made a doctor's appt for tomorrow. Doc is not far. I will have to p[ay 150 deductible plus 20% But that's the price of living in Fl. Should have done this the first time, The emergency room did n't even examine me. I had to remove my virus program because I kept getting booted off line. What should I do Meme. I have plenty of memory. Went grocery shopping finally. Mima
  • What kind of virus program do you have - and how old is it? If you get a 2005 McAfee and install it correctly, it shouldn't boot you off unless you have something bad wrong with your computer. Now, a Norton or some of the others might do that. I had all kinds of problems with Norton until I figured out Nortons had a glitch in them and stopped using them. So far so good with the McAffe ... no problems yet ... and it even downloads the newest virus protection by itself ... I don't have to do anything. It updates itself automatically! My kind of software! Also, did you have a firewall on your old software? That will boot you off the internet faster than anything. If your old virus program had a firewall installed, that could have been the problem. I didn't get one with my new McAfee ... my son-in-law said as much as I run my computer I need one but I didn't install one because last time I kept having to disconnect it every-other-day ... Too much trouble.
  • Meme, I have Norton and have always used it. I just have the Anti-virus and it has always had atomatic updates with it. I have NEVER been booted off the Net. There is also a free one called AVG and lots of people recommend it. You can check it out through Google.
  • All I know is I had a lot of trouble with the Norton I had on my computer and then my son-in-law said it was because Norton had published 'on their site' that there was a glitch in that particular series that I had. I never did buy any more after that. And AVG ... my hubby told me about that. I downloaded it and put it on my old computer last fall ... right after that it started to get slow. It kept getting slower and slower and then it crashed. I finally just bought a new computer. Now, I don't KNOW that it was the AVG virus scanner that did it but that was the last thing I downloaded onto my computer before it crashed. Hubby has AVG on his at work and it seems to be fine. I'm sure there are people who have had problems with McAfee, too, at some time or other. But, so far, it has worked for me. Who knows?
  • I have Norton too and no problems.....just when it runs it slows things down abit cause ,my computer is so old and stupid!

IBS bad last two days..not sure why.....thumb still hurts pretty bad too. We lost power due to ice for awhile today..early moring so I had all the candles lit and it smelled so good here! But I snacked way too much.......and cleaned glass things by candel light!
  • Good morning-it was Mcafee 7.0 -talked to them yesterday after I uninstalled it but they said to install and disable it so they can help me. It has automatic updates. This computer runs Windows 2000. Of course I feel better this am but leaving here before 9 for doctor's. It will be good to have a doc for emegencies. Bye for now. Mima
  • Went to docs-possible kidney stones?? Brad also went-possible ulcer. Here is the twist. I take Tolectin which can cause kidney stones and he takes Naprocen which can cause ulcers. He's on Previcid, which is making him feel better so far. I have to wait-I had an xray. Hope insurance paid for that. Bye for now. Mima
  • Well, after almost three weeks of being exposed to dh's germs, I've come down with the same bug - just not quite as bad. Blah! So couldn't go to DDs to babysit Thursday nor to DSs today to celebrate Little Christmas with them. DH is feeling like a prisoner as he hasn't felt well enough to go anywhere for ages. I'm beginning to feel like one too as I'm not doing much either. Have put some decorations away. Outside will probably wait until next week when we're supposed to hit near 60! In PA! In January! During Farm Show Week when we traditionally have our very worst weathr of winter! I just have the outside, the living room and the tree in the family room to go. Piece of cake
  • But went to first Tai Chi class thursday night - gift from DH for chirstmas. I'm so awkward - oldest in class. They do have it at some senior citizen places and I might look into going there after the six weeks are up.
  • Anagram-I love tai chi Mima
