  • Well Meme, hope you can remember the words to all those songs; somedays I can barely remember my name

You might have to take some Meme Time and just SIT and let that ankle heal. Nothing is more important than that. You sure don't want to end up losing your foot!!!!

Mima - I don't enjoy being with takers either. Some people are just that way, I guess. Maybe they never learned to share, or money is very important to them. Just don't know.

Hi Candice, Joanne, Anagram and Ally. Hope things are going well for you all today. Summer LOOKS like it might be here - at least right now. I am going outside to lay and read my book.

    Everybody have a good day.
  • Hey There
Mima-I don't care to be around takers either. There are some in my family. It is not enjoyable being around them. I try to avoid it when possible.I would crown Louie with a pot if he asked them before talking to me first. I don't think that is likely to happen. He avoids them too.
Meme- I worry about your ankle.. And ,I haven't really met you..You do so much for others,Now you need to do for yourself. It would be nice if you all came to Fl. for a weekend. I would take you to the beach and then we would go get in my sons hot tub.. What a good time that would be.
Happy. I can't go outside and read or anything. The humidity is real high and the bugs are biting. They just love me. Bug bites are terrible. I get big welts.
Anagram,Candice, Ally and everybody. I hope you have a Great Weekend.
    Bye You all..Joanne
  • kittens
Two of the kittens died and I had to watch them struggle to breathe...I
cried and cried, I had to take the one left to an out of town vet
because ours does not see kittens untill 8 weeks old. They told me they
have never seen a kitten alive so malnourished, it is a girl and she is
6 weeks old but looks like she is 2 weeks old. They are keeping her
this weekend and if she is alive by Monday I can bring her home, but
they said not to get our hopes up. She is really cute and her eyes just
steal your heart! It has taken alot out of me this week caring for
them............but I did not want to leave them out there to die on
their own if I could save them so had to try. I wish I had become a
    vet!
  • Good morning-Open House today. No phone calls from ad so we will see how this goes. Let's see , plan B is I sold my house.com and plan c is a realtor. It's in God's hands. Moved more stuff from mother's house yesterday-Brad-not me. Also big old cunky steel desk out of den/bedroom/computer room. I think I would like a tall cabinet so I could hide all the junk in here. I wish I could sleep later!!Before 5 every am. Had to rip out all the lettering on the crosstitch piece-the names-and do it over. Now it's really done-waiting to be pressed and framed. Now I know daughter won't be married any time soon I can rest. Bye for now Mima
  • ps-Brad didn't mention anything else to his brother. I posted after only reading the first page. Sorry about the kittens Candice. Let's take Joanne up on her offer next winter!!!!Mima
  • So is Joanne offering us a place to stay or just the hot tub to use???????????

Mima...get some rest and what did you do wrong on the name in the cross stitch?

Get the kitten today if it is still alive..............what ever will be............... I know.......
  • I think this would be about 4 pts for the sauce with 2 oz of meat apiece and FF sour cream and then count your pasta..whole wheat is only 2pts a cup, regular is 4 I think.

    Weeknight Pasta

Few foods are as versatile or satisfying as pasta, and when it comes to weeknight meals, nothing cooks up quicker. We have a simple and delicious recipe that’s sure to tickle your taste buds and goes from stovetop to tabletop in 30 minutes or less.

    You will need:

    Dry pasta
    1 tablespoon olive oil
    1 pinch fresh, minced garlic
4 chicken breasts, cut into 1” pieces
1 16 oz. bag frozen vegetables
    8 ounces sour cream
1 can creamed soup such as Cream of Chicken
    freshly grated parmesan cheese
Begin by heating the olive oil in a wok or large sauté pan over medium heat. A pinch or so of fresh, minced garlic is a tasty addition, but resist the urge to add more, as it will overpower the subtle flavors of the vegetables. Sauté the garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds or so. Next, add the chicken and cook until golden brown. Since the chicken will continue to cook alongside the vegetables, it is O.K. at this point, if the center is still a bit pink.

Once the chicken is nice and brown, lower the temperature and add in the vegetables. Next, add the sour cream and then the creamed soup. Mix and cover before leaving it to simmer for a few minutes.

If you find the mixture is too thick, you can thin it out by adding a bit of chicken broth or white wine until you get the consistency you like. Also, if you’re looking to cut calories, the low fat sour cream works just fine.

While the chicken mixture is simmering, make sure you get your pasta ready. When the pasta has cooked, add a dollop of your chicken mixture and grate the cheese on top. Season with salt and cracked pepper.
  • La Tortilla wraps are 0 pts...the 8 inch ones....really good..I zap them and use them for snacks or with a salad.....
  • Good morning. All the kids showed up for Father's Day-had spaghetti-yum-and Suzanne made a deliscious cake. Only 4 people came to the open house so I posted it on www.isoldmyhouse.com #67730 if you want to see it. Now I need to let go of the outcome. Going over to Brad's mother's to get the last of the stuff which will go to the church's yard sale. Signing on WEd. What I messed up on the crosstitch was the lettering for the bride and groom's name and date. It is freehand, unlike everything else that is stamped, and it came out crooked and then crooked again. Then the thread was a different color so I had to do the whole thing over but it's done and it looks good. Not perfect-good. I just ahve to iron it and put it in the frame. I custom ordered a mat that is a nice color. Maybe I can put a pic on. Mima
  • Is anyone here taking Remeron?
    Hi,
I have been taking Remeron for almost a month now for fibromylagia. It's turned me into a zombie, even at half the dosage my doc initially prescribed. Being able to sleep at night is nice, but I feel like I'm dead. I've also gained 6 pounds since last Thursday. I log EVERYTHING I eat in fitday, and even with 1 major bad food day, I should have been at maintenance calories for the week, not a 6 pound gain.

If anyone else takes or has taken this drug, I'd really appreciate it if you could share your experiences. I'm going to dump the stuff pretty soon if things don't get better. I feel like it's plunging me into major depression, when that wasn't my problem to start with.

    Thanks in advance,
    Mel
  • I have a friend who takes that for sleep apnea but she doesn't take the whole dose. I take 50mg of Desyrel and that helps. You need a low dose anti-depressant. Not sure if Remeron is but I think she takes half. Don't worry about taking an anti-depressant because it's such a low dose but you need to go into a deep sleep for fibro. I hate thinks that make me feel like a zombie. I hurt like crazy today because I helped pack Mother's house last night. That's it or me. Mima
  • Oh, I'm not worried about the anti-depressant part. Over the last 20 years I've been on trazadone, ambien, wellbutrin, paxil, and serzone. I've also taken flexeril and clonopin. The only ones that didn't have really alarming side effects for me were trazadone ( I guess the 40 pound weight gain was alarming) but I was up to a horse's dose when my doc decided it was too much, and serzone. Serzone has just been taken off the market due to liver problems, and I'm back into searching for a drug that lets me get some sleep but doesn't cause so many side effects that I can't take it.

Thanks for your help. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

    Mel
  • Hi. I take 10mg of Doxepin each night and that is enough to get me into a sound sleep. He had me on 25 mg and I couldn't wake up most of the day either. I hate fatigue, even more than the pain. This is one of the "old" anti-depressants,. Hope you find something that works for you. We don't want the pain and we sure don't want the weight gain either. It seems like FM is a real "catch 22".

Hi Mima - Hope some of the pain goes away for you as the day goes on. It never fails, though, whenever we do something, ANYTHING, we end up hurting.
  • Hey There
Hey Girls - I got out and did some digging and planting. About 2 hours worth. No walking today. I will probably pay the piper tomorrow.I'll probably walk bent over for part of the day.
If tylenol pm doesn't do it I try sleepy time tea extra. If that doesn't work I read. I have been a nurse too many years to take anything else. One of My Drs. tried to get me to take something a few years ago. I couldn't wake up and was a zombie for most of the morning. I told him what he could do with his pills after I looked it up. You know that side effects sometimes take years to show the damage of meds .It is too late then. I always look up and find out about a medication before I take it or my hubby takes it.I feel I am in charge of my body.
Fathers Day was a good time, but, I am glad it is over. Next come the family birthdays. I have about a month before that starts.
I have a floater in my left eye. I have been seeing it all day. What a pain.It looks like a crooked string.
Summer is really here in Fl. Hot!Rain every where but on my house!
    Hello everybody..Joanne
  • The kitten didn't make it the vet said her kidneys shut down,we tried but I guess it just was not ment to be this time.

Been keeping tack with my pedometer and trying to aim for 5000 steps minimum. I'm at 8000 right now for the day. Sometimes if I need more and have the energy I walk in front of the tv and do things from some of my old tapes.
