Kerri - I was there around 9 on Saturday. They started the music a little late because there was a game on the tv. I was wearing all black that night and we were sitting at a table (not booth) near the jukebox. So either I just missed you or you didn't see me. Bummer!

Shimma - Glad to hear the applesauce worked out. I'm planning on trying it tonight.

I have just gone through a terrible 16 hours and I still haven't recovered. Among other things, I'm being accused of messing around with one of my closest friends husband. So my friend's sister was ready to beat me up yesterday until my friend stepped in and calmed her down. The stupid never even stopped to think that the rumors were coming from a person who makes no secret that she doesn't like me. Sheesh! I was so horribly upset. I don't like being accused of crap like that. I don't like that I'm always going to feel a little weird hanging out with this group. And I sure as **** don't like feeling like if I so much as have a 30 second conversation with someone I'm not married to, that somehow equates to me messing around with them.

There are issues with DH, too - that I'm not going into right now. But needless to say, I'm not a happy girl today.

Crap Star, Im sorry youre going through this.....you know, this kind of stuff starts happening when you start looking good...all of a sudden people think youre capable of things they never would have considered before....and sometimes things have a tendency to get exacerbated when you've got friends who are really close and familiar with each other and mix that with alcohol....little things get blown all out of proportion....this too shall pass...if shes really a friend, she'll figure it out.

Oh Star I'm sorry. I don't even know what to say to make you feel better. I just hope that your so called "friends" come to understand how they made you feel. I suppose I can understand your friends reaction if she thought that her husband was unfaithful but geez! Why didn't she talk to him first!

Whatever is going on with your dh will hopefully pass too.

Oh Star I'm so sorry you're going through a tough time. I know how you feel though.... I've always been "one of the guys" except in the eyes of their wives or girlfriends. To them I've been a slut, whore etc. I always thought it was funny they'd call me all that when I was still a virgin! At any rate, it never makes things easy and you feel guilty having a conversation with your FRIEND. Absolutely absurd. I could just KILL people sometimes. Just hang in there and hopefully there will be an apology in the near future.

As for whatever is going on with your DH.... hang in there. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers chickie.

Actually, my friend defended me. It was her sister that was going to kill me. I definitely know who my friends are now. Those that jumped on the bandwagon and were saying things like 'Yeah, she DID seem to be sitting really close to him on Friday night' without mentioning the fact that we were all crammed in like sardines and I was squished between him and MY husband are not friends. But those closest to both me and her all said that it was ridiculous and that not a thing is going on. So for that knowledge, I'm grateful.

That just got compounded with the fact that DH spent the last month working graveyard and he's often an insomniac as well so I'm fed up with sleeping by myself all the time. It also makes him so tired that he's in a fog all the time so when I told him about what happened, he barely reacted at all. So I got all hurt and upset because he seemed very unsupportive.

Isn't it stupid that when my own husband doesn't want to sleep with me that all off sudden everyone else supposedly wants to?

Oh Star, I'm so sorry. What a mess. Ya know, sleep deprivation can do tricky things to the head, just to add to the mix. Working nights is a BAD thing a lot of times too, especially on a marriage when the other partner works days. I'm sure after a little sleep and some time together this will work itself out. It sounds like you guys have a very solid relationship. It's hard to not let the turmoil dominate your thoughts though. Been there - it sucks.

Hope things brighten VERY soon.

you know....I never did get the whole "beat up the other woman" thing ( even if one actually exists) I mean, I figure, no one makes a man do something he doesnt want to do....if he's that type then if it wasnt her, it would be someone else........and the other woman wasnt the one who stands up next to you in church and promises to be faithful.....
Star~ you know that high drama is some peoples favorite sport- anytime a sh*t stirrer can make someone else miserable, it makes them happy...but karma is a funny thing--this will come back on the rumor starter....
The DH's internal clock is probably all screwed up....and usually when that happens it affects the ability to uh...perform. So most do the avoidance thing...at least that how it worked when I was dating a guy who worked in oil and did all kinda weird shifts.

Marie - other woman thing - I've never understood that theory either. Jerry Springer...

Thanks you guys. I'm with you on the other woman thing, too. If my husband was messing around on me, you can bet it's going to be far worse for him!

I know the sleep deprevation thing is not doing good things for either DH or I right now. I wake up every hour looking for him so I'm tired and he's just not sleeping. Compiled with the other drama, it's not a good combination. Bah!

I'm going for a hard bike ride after work and getting this out of my system. I hate feeling like I've got nothing but negative energy around me and THAT's something I can change

Boy there's alot going on here today! Poor Star! Been there done that. It's really difficult when things are not right at home. I completely agree with Marie.

It can be very difficult when you have very close friendships for things to appear as they aren't. You and DH need some good quality time together without anyone else around.

I understand the insomniac thing. Danny often wakes up to find me gone simply because I don't want to wake him if I can't sleep, so I'll get up and go in the livingroom and read. He just knows that that's the way I am. It has nothing to do with not wanting to be with him. Hang in there, you'll work it out.

Star, I can totally relate right now about the late night shift sucking . When we're together on the weekend he's tired and crabby and it's like we have to learn to live together again. How long is your DH going to be on this shift and does he have a choice? MY DH volunteered (the idiot) for this shift. Then again, it was only supposed to be for 2 weeks (not the 2 months it's been).
Well, the DD has an ear infection and possibly (why do I even BOTHER trying to argue w/the doctors on their tests? They're always positive their tests are accurate. Wait to surprise him when her 24 hr strep test turns positive!!!). Luckily he put her on antibiotics for the ear infection that "if" she has strep will cover that as well.
I've not done a lick of exercise (unless you count folding clothes and cleaning the bathroom counter). I need to so that I can get my butt moving. Maybe if I do it today it'll make it easier to exercise (motivate me to) tomorrow.

Hi Ladies. Thank you for a warm welcome. It is so good to be able to talk to you all about Atkins/low carb stuff. I don’t have anyone to talk to about this stuff and right now I am very excited/interested to read and discuss any issue Atkins/low carbing.

Jane: I live in Beacon Hill. Where in MA are you? By any chance did you watch Fox 25 news last night? They had a short segment on low carbing.

It seems that more people who adapt low carbing will stick to their plan compared to people who adapted the low fat diet. I did WW a few months ago. But I felt so hungry all the time. With Atkins I have not gone off, not even once, during these five weeks. I lasted on WW three weeks! Anyway, I feel real satisfied now. Actually when I first started I used to have two snacks during the day and one dessert at night. Now I go for snack only before my workout in the afternoons or after my workout in the mornings to have energy for workout. So this was an encouraging piece of information that even if, by any change, I go off plan one day the chance of getting back on track the next day is pretty good! LOL!

In the same segment, he also mentioned something that I thought was very misleading. He said the side effect of low carbing is headache and constipation. I never experience headache but have been reading archives both here and at lowcarbfriends and saw that people only complain about headaches during the initial phase. In almost all cases the pain had gone away during the first week. Actually, I am wrong. I think I remember reading a few posters complaining about headaches after being on the plan for a while and then experiencing this awful headache for a few hours when they indulged on high carb (processed kind). So that should be a good thing, right? When you train your body to expect healthy stuff, if you give it not so good stuff, it will react and would let you know that is not very happy with you! But if you feed your body not so good stuff all the time it would not react if you give it more not good stuff. Do I make any sense?

Anyhow about the other side effect of low carbing, the plan stresses on taking supplements. So if people comply with the entire plan then they should not experience any side effects.

Anyway, I just thought that was bad journaling on the part of the newscaster.

Unfortunatley, the excessive drinking thing I have down pat. Noggin is a little wozzy today. The food thing is good. Did the spagetti squash and love it. Have many Spagetti Squash recipes now from the recipe site I belong to! Can't wait to try it with sauted tomatoes, basil and garlic!

Hi Rachel....it's nice to add another person. My problem is we tend to get so busy I can't keep up with personals This place is great for support and answers to any/all questions you'd want.

Hey Star, no doubt there is jealousy in this, I just hope this won't get you down and ruin your efforts, keep it up kiddo, your really an inspiration to us all that it can happen (weight loss that is ). I guess its a good thing your hubby isn't worried about all the whooplah.
