Yes, Jen24 your right...we have to really WANT to do it! Isn't that how we were doing it previously????

It's hard to use all the old tricks that once worked, like rewarding oneself witha new outfit, or changing up your workout....you really are just stuck it seems to find that motivation to get ones butt back in gear, because you are content at your current size, not as unhappy as you were before you lost some weight.

How do we go from content to goal weight, and even then, will we be happy there????

I guess I won't know for sure until I get my butt to goal weight....

Ok, I'm rambling...have a happy hump day!

I think we need to start a challenge of sorts for all of us that have that last 10-30 pounds to go. We've all come too far to become complacent about our goals. I'm not saying boot camp style and yell at eachother to keep going, but little pushes to keep motivated every day and inch our way to success.

I know my first issue to tackle is drinking water again. For the first week on South Beach, I drank so much water that I know it helped me flush out a lot of my water retention. If I could keep that up everyday, I know I would start seeing the number on the scale go down again.

Let's try to keep eachother going. Spring is here and summer is around the corner. I know I'm not the only one that wants to be comfortable in shorts, tank tops and swimsuits. I want these 25ish pounds off ASAP - this time for good.

I'm with you Meredith! I think a challenge of sorts is a great idea. We HAVE to be vigilant in order to reach our goals fully....no punkin' out during the last bit for me! So yes, let's encourage each other & help each other get ALL the way to where we want to be!
Like my new avatar? DH sweetly helped me do it--it's fun to FINALLY get to do cool stuff w/ the digital camera. As soon as I get access to a scanner, I'll scan in a "before" picture, and then I'll be able to post my "before & during" on that thread. I can't wait!

yay, jen, i noticed your picture right away! cute hair - i could never handle having to "do" my hair every day. and may i say, you don't look an ounce overweight! i mean that as a compliment. =)

Thanks for the kind words, Holly. (-; I have to tell you, though, that I've found my short hair is actually EASIER. At least, this particular 'do is. When I used to have a bob length, it was harder because round brushes & curling irons were involved. This hair only requires some products, a 3 min. blowdry, and your hands! I say all this because I used to be scared of getting it this short for some of the same reasons. (-; But it's actually not hard at all! (-;

good that your hair is easy -- but notice my hair. that would be a no blow dry, no product style. i'm just lazy i guess! i'm actually growing it out now, it's shorter than it has been the past 10 years.

Hey Jen24- cute pic, you look so skinny! Where is the 25lbs that you want to lose???

I started yesterday increasing my water....I think that one thing will be helpful. I was drinking lots of water when I first started my wieght loss journey. It is so beneficial it helps cleanse your body, gives you readiant skin, and also is a great source of nourishment for all parts of your body, along with helping your tummy not be so empty, and filling it with too much food.

Any other suggestions?

Jen-I don't know why, but I just remembered you saying you are from Sisseton, SD. Were you born there? How long did you live there? I have 2 friends from Sisseton that moved to Pierre in 1992 or so. They graduated in 1998 so they'd be 24ish right now. Its such a small area that I wouldn't be surprized if you knew them. Sorry to be so nosy. You know when something gets stuck in your brain that is rather trivial but it bothers you until you act on it? That stuff happens to me on a regular basis.

I have a busy day today. I have a meeting with a social worker to go over some information for my Juvenile Justice research paper, then I need to go to Wal-Mart (I have about 2 squares of tp left). I also need to try to re-color my hair. It turned out a little orangy. I am majorly behind on my real estate software so I better kick that into gear tonight, and I also have to meet with a friend of mine that is helping me put together a benefit concert for one of my good friends recently diagnosed with leukemia.

I am substitute teaching tomorrow. I'm not used to working with special needs students so I'm a little nervous. I told the sub placement advisor that I'd try anything once and for $80 a day I'm up to the challenge. It has been hard not working. I'm usually the one that makes the money, pays the bills and handles expenses since my boyfriend pays child support and doesn't get much take-home pay. Now, I clean my mother's floors for $50 a week and thats my only income. In one month I will have my real estate license so hopefully I can get some work soon. I think it will be a rough couple of months starting off. Uggh.

Sorry to ramble on about my petty woes. I just read my post and I sound like a depressed drama queen. I'm not really...just today!

Meredith--man, sounds like times are tough for you these days. I hope you get more good-paying work soon! (-; And yes, I was born in Sisseton! I lived there (well, on a farm 15 mi. outside of town) my whole life until I went to college. My family is still there & DH & I are moving back there this June. You're right, I probably DO know your 2 friends that moved to Pierre from Sisseton. What are their names? It's a small world for sure! I miss SD & am really looking forward to getting back there....once you move "out" & get far away, you realize the really good things about it. Plus, I miss my family like CRAZY & being 1500 miles away isn't helping. (-;

Hi everybody - been missing for a couple of days. I've been working 10 hr. days for most of this week and yesterday I went wedding shopping crazy and spent 10 hrs. doing wedding stuff. My mother and I bought the pattern/fabric/notions for my wedding dress and all the bridesmaids dresses. Yea! I am so excited. (Even came in under budget!) And we're ordering our invites today too! I was so exhausted when I got home last night I went straight to bed, no exercise. But I think I probably got a bit of activity in running around all those huge fabric wearhouses and flower gardens all day, so no problem. And despite eating 2 meals on the road, I came in at 1450 cals. and PLENTY of water. As soon as I'm done here, I'm getting on the treadmill and doing my weights.

Cute pic Jen! I need to get my fiance to take a photo of me "now" so I can post some progress pics too! I've got the before's but not the now's. That will be a weekend goal.
