Karen - hang in there. You'll be so happy if you get this sleeping problem solved now. Honestly, it gets much harder the longer it goes on. I have a niece who will be 9 in March who has big sleeping problems because they weren't solved before. It's got to be hard for you; I'll be thinking of you and sending you good vibes.
