Kathleen, the space heater has helped sooooooooo much. My room is toasty warm. I'll be getting one for the kitchen and living room too. The furnace will be fixed sometime. I am just grateful for a roof over my head and warmth in my bedroom. lol

Holly, how's my friend? I did not have that knee thingy. My mom did so I know exactly what you are referring to.

It takes 8 to 12 months for a knee to totally heal. At 8 months, you are looking at 80% of the healing done. Not everyone is the same tho. I am at 4 months post op so for me to still have pain is normal.
PT has helped me so much but now, I'll take over from here on my own. I have gone 3 times a week for 4 months.

My Jennifer works for Trotwood school district in Dayton. She a talk therapist for them. They are alternating days for students currently, only allowing 50% capacity tho.

Also, Jennifer has recently told me she's going back to school to get her PhD. I'm so thrilled and proud.

Our little State was doing so well against Covid, until this past week! Lowest in the nation. (I know everything is relative, and we only have half a million residents for the whole State) But we've had only 58 deaths total. We had a mandatory mask mandate, and 6 ft distancing. But I guess people were getting complacent and there were Halloween parties people meeting at deer camp, and we're stuck inside with the colder weather, and boom Now there is a total ban on multi-households getting together. that means not seeing your sons or daughters' families for Thanksgiving. It blows, as Lisa says! but we are complying. I am still so grateful that we are all healthy.

Holly: I have a few leads on therapists, but I really don't want to go (even though I know it would probably help), so I am putting it off. It is on my long list of things to do, but I keep glancing over it. Well, actually, I did make a phone call to a highly recommended therapist about three weeks ago for marital counseling, but her receptionist said she does not do marital counseling. That kind of burst my bubble after I had built up the nerve to call, and I haven't done anything about it since. Now I don't know whether I should try her for individual counseling or wait to find another therapist who could do both marital and individual counseling.

Wow, it does sound like your state is getting very strict with COVID regulations. Does that mean that you won't be able to spend Thanksgiving with either of your sons? Our Governor just put a 10pm curfew in place for three weeks because our cases in Ohio continue to rise. So far, restaurants and bars remain open, but at limited capacity and earlier closing times.

Well, our puppy arrived at around noon today! He is adorable... and TINY... only 8 weeks old! 💙 We named him Tully, after a town in Ireland, called Tullamore.☘ So far, so good! But I don't expect to get much sleep the next couple nights. Lol! That's okay! Other than a televisit with one of my doctors on Wednesday, I have cleared this week to devote exclusively to the little guy. Our other dog, Lucy, is VERY excited and curious about Tully! She follows him everywhere!

I don't blame you at all for being burnt out on PT, doctors, & hospitals, and not wanting to get your other knee done right now. I can so relate! My hip replacement was at least my 15th surgery in my lifetime, and I have become "surgery phobic" at the thought of another one. So I completely understand. That is good to know that, at 4 months post surgery, it is normal to still have some pain. I hope and pray that you will eventually make a full recovery. 🙏 Until then, do your best to enjoy life and be happy again!

I also take medication for my anxiety, but it has still been heightened the past several months. I have a daily med I take for anxiety and an as needed one that I don't take as often as I should. That is probably part of the problem.

That is great that Jennifer has decided to go back to school to get her PhD. Heck yes, you should be proud!

I hope your first night wasn't too sleepless, in fact of course I hope you don't have ANY sleepless nights due to puppy training. and glad Miss Lucy is interested too! Happy times and I hope your anxiety doesn't get overwhelming.

with our State's current stricter restrictions, no we cannot have T-giving with our sons . because we are not allowed to mix multi households. Alot of people are going to defy that and go ahead, they even say so on FB. We don't like it at all..but we will comply.

Happy Thanksgiing to my friends I'm feeling kinda mopey because according to our State's latest regs, multi-households cannot gather. Our older son could come over, as he is a single household person; but he feels he is out in the public so much more due to his job, that he doesn't want to risk us

I've also had a rough couple of days with the lady I am assisting. She is not progressing from her accident injuries and spends about 23 hours a day in bed. so she tries to instruct me to get things from her office, so she can do some of her business. it is very frustrating, I don't feel she is giving me clear instructions or maybe I'm a stupidhead, I end up getting frustrated and anxious very quickly and almost crying because I can't do what she is asking. Just my own shortcomings, being thin-skinned and eager to please and then feeling dumb when I dont understand what she is instructing. I will head over there around 9 to feed her cats their breakfast and do my best to be postive around her. and I promised I'd bring her a piece of pumpkin pie this afternoon because no one else in her circle of friends offered to.

I'm glad I stopped pt. I'm tired of having to go somewhere. It's part of my depression, I think. I prefer to be alone most of the time. I communicate with my friends on messenger. Leaving the house is something I struggle with. I always feel better when I do. I'm kinda weird.

I had to sit here and try to remember what day it is.

I've got so much that needs done around the house. Cleaning cleaning cleaning.....

Yes I ate alot of turkey and am still doing so, LOL, we cooked a big turkey but that's OK because we like it and it makes lots for leftovers.

I need to get the confidence to speak plainly to the lady I am assisting...she has asked for me to help her sorting her meds and I do NOT feel okay about that! so worried that I might make an error and how awful would that be!

today is the first day in ages, it seems, that it is not cloudy and dreary, there is actually some weak sunshine

I also need to do cleaning in here; do some Christmas cards, make an agenda for my MRO meeting (Zoom) this Wednesday. I am resigning as President after 6 years (and was Vice Pres for 4 years previous) as there was a recent situation and I feel my Board of Directors totally let me down and because I am so thin-skinned it is hard not to take it personally and I just want to get away from the organization.
