  • Thanks for the information - my fiance is a little more into the homeschooling than i am - i would get nervous - i have an engineering degree, but i still don't know if that would qualify me to teach a child anything. sure, i can do the basic reading/writing stuff, but i don't remember all the upper grade stuff. i'm sure you have manuals and training tools to use - right now it just seems overwhelming

i have been on SBD for about 4 weeks now and have lost about the same as you - 8 or 9 pounds. i had a "relapse" with some krispy kremes, among other things, but am now on track for the past 5 days - now i am back down to the 8/9 pound loss mark. i will not weigh myself again until tomorrow morning, so we'll see how it goes then.

i have started running more and have started doing a 15 minute yoga/pilates workout from Self magazine that i really enjoy to help me tone better

my birthday is one month from today so i am trying to do my best to stay OP until then

Where in TX are you located?
  • I just had to jump in here and proudly tell about my TWO redheads! BOTH my daughters are blessed with beautiful, thick, shiny red hair. The boys both have dark blond, but the girls lucked out. I often wonder how I would look as a redhead? It would be fun to see...maybe this winter!
  • Hi Emily,

    I'm down in San Antonio.

I miscounted. I have only lost 7 pounds. And I keep waivering back and forth between the 6th and 7th pound. I really need to get exercising. I just hate to do it.

I haven't really jumped into Phase 2 yet. I guess I'm to do it. But, I am beginning to feel a little on the deprived side and I know that is dangerous. I guess it is because even on Phase 1, I am only losing about 1 pound a week. I don't want to slow down even further. It's really frustrating.

Anyway, I hope you keep open-minded about homeschooling. It really gives you a great feeling when you hear your child reading and you think, "I taught him that!"

    Talk to you later,

    TJ
  • Hi TJ

I've had some apprehension of jumping into Phase II as well. But, I was cheating on Phase I anyway - not just a little bit, but big time blowing it for 3-4 days because I already "cheated"... but with Phase 1.5 (as FrannyMae calls it), you can kind of creep into Phase II without feeling guilty

I believe I've actually lost weight since I started looking at it this way. I am getting into the 160's now (don't want to update my bio just yet until I'm sure!!)

I've even had some low-carb beer on the weekend without problems and a roll with my dinner

Had choc. cake on Sunday for a birthday, but I exercised and stayed OP the rest of the day.

It's all about making it work for you. But, I definitely know about it being frustrating. My friend did low-carb last year and lost about 20 pounds - she keeps encouraging me when i am not so motivated - just keep telling yourself, this will work, this will work - i have to keep at it!!

That must be a great feeling of homeschooling - we will definitely keep an open mind about it - we're about 3-4 years out from having children, plus another 4-5 for them to get to the school age, so we have some time

    Thanks for the information

My fiance's sister lives in Boerne - she just had a little boy - I can't wait to meet him - I'm finally (sort of) an "Auntie Em"!!
