Good Afternoons! It's another cold gloomy day in my corner of the world. It was 17 degrees when I came downstairs this morning. I didn't have to leave the house today which was nice. I did some laundry and have been on the computer trying to order the calendars Beth created. I order four, but had to change the credit card information and the final confirmation email came through twice, so it looked like I had ordered eight. I canceled both and tried to reorder one and what a SNAFU that is turning out to be! I sent a help request to customer service and didn't hear back so created another order which was never confirmed. Finally got a notice back that they could put the reorder through if I would ok it. So explained what I had done and told them to figure it out so I only get four. I spent the afternoon trying to finish a library book so I can return it/them tomorrow, and waiting for the calendar email. In other words, wasted the whole afternoon pretty much.

Maggie, a cough that hangs on is annoying! It's good yours is almost gone! Wonderful news for Will! It won't be long and you will be able to use your motorhome. Time flies for sure!

Bob is home so should think about something for supper. Hope you all enjoy your evening and have a super Saturday tomorrow!

Good Morning! The sun is shining brightly and it's a little warmer this morning -- 23 degrees earlier when I came downstairs. I have clean sheets on the bed, sheets in the washer, cat boxes cleaned, and thinking about a tuna casserole for lunch. Will take library books back after lunch.

"Gma," I hope you enjoy the sewing workshop today. We used to have all kinds of groups to learn how to do things, but not any more because "you know who" never come. I must say I am surprised your WM has good produce. Our's is ratty looking, maybe because it has to be shipped so far. Glad the ultrasound was clear so you don't have to worry about that. Beth makes calendars with the kids' pictures and a few years ago it was cheaper to make the year start anywhere but January. I pay for them and have to put the order in using Shutterfly, and every time have trouble. This time I did the order on the laptop thinking maybe I wasn't seeing all the directions on the iPad. Well, when I got the confirmation, I got two within minutes of each other, and it looked like I had ordered 8 instead of 4. So I contacted customer service help and cancelled both orders. When I didn't hear back within two hours, I ordered again. Then I get the email saying they would reinstate the first order, for 4, as soon as they heard back from me. I wrote again explaining now there could be three, but I never had a confirmation on the third order. Still haven't heard from them on that one.

The washer is done so need to get the next load going. Hoping you all enjoy a nice weekend, whatever your plans may be!

Good Afternoon! It's been another very windy day and my thermometer says it's 70 degrees right now. I'd love to open the sliding doors but know everything that's loose would be plastered on the opposite side of the house. Church and gift shop counting went smoothly again today. Our Lenten "giving" was designated to go to the "free food" distribution people. Needless to say, they got the least amount given in the last several years. I had to get more diet cat food after lunch and I was lucky to park by a Fed Ex truck which gave me a wind shield going into the vet's office. Tomorrow is my once a month coffee date with a former coworker. We kept having conflicts in March and the month will be history after tomorrow.

"Gma," On 1.5#s gone forever! The Easter Brunch sounds good. Sioux City used to have a Joanne's Fabric but it's long gone. The clerks were very helpful and pleasant. I hate it when schedule changes screw up my schedule. Zowie's concert has been changed three times, but so far no problem for us until soccer games get going. I think it is on a soccer night if that schedule is the same as last year.

Bob has practice tonight and could be later than usual. I'll be glad when the Maundy Thursday production is over and done with. Need to think about something for supper. Enjoy your evening!

Good Afternoon! It's a beautiful day in my neighborhood, sunny, 70 degrees, and just a little breeze. After the awful wind yesterday this is delightful! I spent the morning having coffee and conversation with my friend, then made a WM visit. There is a hair salon in the store which carries the same brands as our beautician, and cheaper. Of course Bob and I use different brands. He is out with another farmer friend plowing a field. He wasn't sure how long it would take and isn't home yet. Another Maundy Thursday practice tonight; they haven't had everyone at a practice yet because of bad colds and stomach flu. So far we have avoided both. I have a load of clothes in the washer which will be done shortly.

Maggie, a months vacation will definitely be something to look forward to. Sounds like fun to visit the parks! I hope the fridge installation is complete without any glitches.

"Gma," is the sewing machine table a table especially for a sewing machine? I want to get one for my portable once I get the bedroom cleaned out, painted, and new carpet. At the rate I'm going may be Christmas. That's too bad about the broken glasses. Both "boys" eat the diet food. Sonny is the one the vet was concerned about. They are both 18#s, but Ernie is long in the body where Sonny is short and roly-poly. He said it wouldn't Ernie to eat it too. I can only get it at the vet's and it is pricey. I just bought some and asked when Ernie was due for shots because I wanted his ears cleaned out. Both are on a three year plan now, which must be something new. Used to be every year and that is harder on me than them. Anyhow, who knows if they each get their fair share when I have two bowls, one for each. My mom always said a cat wouldn't overeat like a dog will.

Guess I will change clothes and do some closet digging. Hope you all are enjoying a terrific Tuesday!

Good Afternoon! Another sunny, very windy day in my neighborhood. The thermometer says 81 but I don't think so. This morning I worked on cleaning out the fridge of drips, crumbs, and a few food items that needed to be pitched, clearing off the island again, and making my Easter grocery list. Tomorrow morning I will brave the grocery store early and hope I don't forget anything. I have bell practice later this afternoon, then will make a "to do" list of cleaning chores before Easter. For some reason I'm not as fussy when it is the kids coming. Bob always says I should clean after they leave. Ha ha!

"Gma," we have rain and storms predicted for late afternoon and evening. We need the rain but not the storm part. What an awful surgery for your sister's nephew! I wonder why he didn't take advantage of Obamacare? Next thing is he'll be sued for not being able to pay. It's beyond me why any intelligent (?) person would chew or smoke after all the warnings. The high school health teacher had a big poster of a kid who chewed, missing part of his jaw -- not pretty. I did find my hair spray in with the others on the WM shelf and it was the same price as the WM salon price. I was surprised to find it there. The cabin is a little over an hour with the summer tourist traffic. We figure we are 1.25 hour from Sioux City, and 2.5 hours from Sioux Falls. Storm Lake is approximately 9-10,000 population not counting those at the college nor those here that don't want to be counted. We used to have three discount stores, Sears, Wards, a nice Penneys store, and 3-4 dress shops, but WM took care of them. We have several "temporary" immigrant clothing stores and restaurants, plus they have their own grocery stores. The grocery stores have been here awhile but the others don't last long. Of course our larger grocery stores have aisles of "their" food too. We have a state of the art regional medical center here for general care, and helipad for emergencies going to Sioux City or Omaha, the university, a variety of churches, two packing plants (ugh!), and a million $$ plus school district with two new buildings and another one in the remodel/additon stage. I wouldn't want to live in any smaller town that's for sure. We have several within 15/20 miles or less, and they come here for medical, groceries, etc. Our quiet little town usually has a full page of police arrests in the twice weekly paper! So far no bombs but there have been threats. The table looks like a good deal. If our deck doors are open we hear the highway (two lanes) traffic three blocks away. We are on the edge of town so the speed is 55, which is what all Iowa two lane roads and highways are. Bob calls us the of cart state because MN, SD, and NE (?) are all 60 or 65.

I need to get busy or I will out of steam to do anything, but a nap does sound inviting. Enjoy the rest of this wonderful Wednesday!
