Anyone doing a Phase 1 for the New Year?

    How is everyone doing?

    DW isn't faring too well - very moody (SHE SAID IT!) and she had physical withdrawal symptoms like sweating and the shakes. She is very addicted to sugar.

    We're heading to NY this weekend and she feels like she wants to stop (celebrating my families' birthdays so there will be lots of food and cake!). Her prerogative but I am staying OP.
  • Count me in! I made the foolish decision of starting Phase 1 for the very first time in early December rather than wait until the holidays were over. I didn't adhere perfectly, but still lost 5 lbs... then both my birthday AND Christmas fell right around when I began Phase 2. "Oh, a little birthday cake won't hurt!" "Oh, I can't say no to the family meal!" Yeah, that undid almost all of my progress.

    I've started Phase 1 again on January 2nd, and I've been sticking to it so far. It's a bit easier this time around, and I'm adhering to the diet much more strictly. I'm back to where I was when I ended phase 1 last time, so I'm hopeful that I'll see more success!
  • Does anyone here pay for the SBD website tools? I'm trying to decide if it's worth it. I have the book on my Kindle and this website plus a couple recipe resource sites for inspiration. Doing well 3 days in. Usually by now on other diets I've given up counting cal or points. This seems so much easier I'm having doubts I'm doing it right. But so far the scale is looking good. I know I shouldn't look but I can't help it :/

    We were in NY this weekend and we staying very on plan. So proud of DW! And my brother is getting married this year. He is going to start SBD in 3 months. He does it as a "quick" fix - stays on for 6 months for an event - he and my BIL. They don't do it correctly (eat broccoli and chicken breast or fish for all that time) and over exercise so DW and I tried to educate them. Good thing was that they didn't give me a hard time about not drinking or eating!

    I want to start the exercise (15 minute walk 3x a week to start) this week. DW's fitbit comes today and mine (the purple one) doesn't come for another 4 weeks but I know she will be motivated so I think I will try this tomorrow.

    4 more days of Ph1...

    I plan on doing one fruit a day, brown rice is the only grain I will be introducing - going to try to stay away from wheat. See if that helps me at all. I like brown rice pasta better anyway so

    Travel is so much more easy when you can have fruit - I've had my fill of turkey pepperoni and cheese sticks !
