Good Morning! We got up to a rainy morning. The sun is supposed to shine this afternoon, with more hot and humid. I have the sliding doors open, it's nice and cool right now. No big plans for the day until this afternoon when I have to close out the gift shop register for the day. Nothing was sold on Monday so hope the rest of the week is more profitable.

I am absolutely livid! On the news this morning, a 9 year old local boy beat his pet dog to the point it is paralyzed. My first reaction would be to beat the kid, but can't help but wonder if he is being beaten himself. I think cruelty to animals should be a felony crime rather than a misdemeanor crime with a fine and slap on the wrist. Makes me nuts!

I need to get dressed and get moving. I know there are towels in the dryer waiting to be folded and put away. Hope you all enjoy your day today!

"Gma," so glad you are back with us! In reading the local paper, the dog belonged to a neighbor. The dog is a Chihuahua so didn't have a chance. The article didn't say if the dog was put down. The kid obviously has a serious problem.

Not much happening around here these days. Just gathering up the supplies to do my dolls and Will is on the mend. He is currently cancer free but since that spot had cells in it and was stage 3 he has to take chemo treatments. They will install a stint by his collarbone in which they use to insert the meds. We don’t know as of yet how many treatments he will have to have but will find out next week.

Good Afternoon! It's another very humid day in my corner of the world. The sun is shining but it looks like clouds are coming in from the west. Bob is playing in a golf fun day tomorrow so I hope it doesn't rain. I had my coffee date with my retired coworker this morning. Bob painted my bathroom today; I wanted to look at colors in another paint store but he kept bugging me so picked one I looked at yesterday -- palest green of the bunch and it is definitely green! I hope once the towels and shower curtain are up it will tone down some. The color swatch said if I didn't like the color I could get a free gallon of another color. I somehow don't think he'd be real excited about doing it again so soon.

Maggie, I also missed where Will learned about the cancer. I hope the chemo will take care of any other wandering cancer cells.

"Gma," I had to at your comment about Jackson's haircut. We see it all at the soccer games, styles and colors. I'm so glad Jason was so particular about his hair; as soon as it got a little long it would curl and he didn't like that. Ian is the same way. Kolby is another story! He's has had super short almost shaved, a mohawk, and now he's wearing it a little longer but not over his ears. So far the girls haven't done crazy colors or cuts. Jack and Bob sound alike when it comes to wrinkled clothes! I told Bob to lay out what he's wearing tomorrow so he will at least leave the house wrinkle free.

I need to work on a grocery list for tomorrow so better get at it. Life would be so simple if we didn't have to eat! Enjoy the rest of your day and evening!

Good evening ladies! Thunderstorms for the 6th day in a row. Its hot and humid and depressing. I need to see the sun!

Just doing my usual quilting stuff, going to the Y, reading too much, and trying to work some housework in. I can't stand clutter or dust or dirty floors, but I can ignore stuff like washing the windows.

My friend who recently had her 19th surgery is having another on Monday to fix her bursa sac. She has the best outlook and just keeps on going.

Faye, the kids around here have strange haircuts, in my opinion, but I'm sure a lot of people think mine is too. The best thing is it does grow out. Men should never be trusted to pack a bag!

Jean, that mean. crazy kid that beat the dog should be put away until he is grown up. It brought tears to my eyes.

Maggie, I didn't know about Will's cancer, either. I hope the chemo isn't too bad for him and I'll add him to our prayer book at church.

Good Afternoon! I had a post all written and somehow it went into never never land, never to be seen again! GRR!!! It's another very humid day here and would be really miserable if the sun were out. Bob is playing golf and there is a slight breeze which helps a little. I made the dreaded WM run this morning; it's fast becoming the $100 store. It was getting busy with mothers and kids as I was leaving, but they did have several check outs open. I noticed some merchandise had been relocated but everything on my list was where I usually find it.

Susan, you do keep busy which is good! I know what bursa is but didn't realize one could have surgery for or on it. I thought it was just a lubricating material around joints. No? I hope your friend gets along ok, 19 surgeries is sure a lot! The dog had to be put down and someone gave the family another dog. Judging from the address in the paper, it happened in Mexican territory. If anyone at school finds out, the kid will have a hard time. I would have a hard time having him in my class. I'm hoping he was sent away.

"Gma," I sure hope your electricity will stay on now! I think it's too funny Jack could tell the guys how to fix it. I can't imagine how hot and miserable you must have been. The bathroom green looks much lighter today. The sun coming in the sky light gives it a whole different look. My hair started turning gray in my 30s, and really got going after I had the hysterectomy. I just decided "what you see is what you get." Somehow I don't think your house comes anywhere close to looking like a hoarder's house. If true, then a squeaky clean one!

Guess I will boil some eggs for egg salad. Bob is having a steak supper at the golf course so I am on my own for both lunch and supper. Hope you all enjoy a fantastic Friday!

I went to WM for protein powder and bars this morning after I worked out at the Y. That is how boring my days are.

Faye, my yard man does the flowers and shrubs. He planted a bunch of bulbs this spring. He's going to take out the hedges in the front of the house. I've hated them since day one - 25 years - but that's how all the houses in this development were landscaped and Stan liked them. I'm going to have Scott put in hydranges which I love in the spring. He also cleans my gutters and trims my trees without me even having to tell him.

Jean, Margaret's bursa has a leak that needs to be repaired. It's her hip and it might have been nicked in a previous surgery.

Good Morning! We got up to rain so are going to see what the weather is doing after lunch before we head to the cabin. I've done some laundry and changed the sheets on the bed. That is an automatic every Saturday. I didn't think we were going to the lake until tomorrow so haven't fixed any food to take. I wouldn't mind ordering pizza and call it good. Next weekend is the last hurrah for everyone so will be making extra food then.

"Gma," Bob mentions joining a golf league again, and he could do so with my blessing. He only plays two or three times a summer and he is a good golfer. His parents were avid golfers and had lots of tournament trophies. They even traveled to Florida to play in a national cancer tournament. I took lessons two summers in a row, decided I wasn't having fun plus paying a sitter, so gave it up. I forgot about putting the olives in my egg salad! I know Bob will ask about it when I do.

The dryer just buzzed so will fold the sheets and put them away. Laundry sure seems to multiply when I least expect it. Be sure and enjoy a super Saturday!

Good morning, ladies! The sun is out today - more rain tomorrow - and it's only supposed to be 81 degrees, 74 right now.

It looks like Labor Day weekend may be some nasty weather with Cristobal coming up the coast. The storm watch is on. The newspaper this morning had its usual pre-storm warning that homeowners insurance does not cover flooding. It also said that Hampton Roads (Newport News, Hampton, Poquoson, and Yorktown), is the next city after New Orleans for serious flooding. I know FEMA redid the 100-year flood plan this year and my flood insurance went down for the first time in years.

Sandy and I went to see "The 100 Foot Journey" yesterday. A good chic-flick. What was disgusting was the ticket was $6 and a small popcorn was $6.50. I'm making me a big purse and taking my own from now on.

Nothing happening today but doing the downstairs floors and some cooking ahead for the coming week.

Faye, I've never tried green olives in egg salad but I'm putting some in today. I'm also making tuna salad and chicken salad, a pork roast and sauerkraut, grilling chicken breasts and a meatloaf. I made a huge container of salad yesterday so all I'll have to do is reheat and cook veggies all week. I noticed the same thing when I got new undies - very thin cotton that won't last.

Jean, it seems like you just opened the cabin at the lake and it'll soon be time to close it up. The summer has flown by.

Good Afternoon! The sun is shining and it's not quite as humid as yesterday. I had a hard time getting to sleep last night for some reason. I blamed it on too much fresh air at the cabin yesterday. Anyhow, I slept until 8:30 this morning which is very unusual for me. I can't remember the last time that happened. Bob let the boys up from the basement and he said Sonny wasn't sure he should come up since I'm always the first one up in the morning. I've done nothing but read the papers and eat breakfast/lunch so far.

"Gma," I hope your air is able to keep up with the heat! We haven't had a 100 degree day yet this summer, and we usually get a couple in July. Bob isn't crazy about mayo and that's all that his mom used. I grew up on Miracle Whip so that's what I use unless a recipe specifically calls for mayo.

Susan, I sure hope flooding doesn't happen. The tv has been broadcasting news about the CA earthquake. At least with tornadoes there is usually a little bit of a warning. I have been tempted to take my own popcorn to the movies. It never tastes as good as theater popcorn smells though. I'm sure they pop it, as people come in, so the smell entices people to buy. Undies must be like everything else these days -- cost goes up and quality goes down.

I need to get busy on some more laundry. I'm thinking potato salad sounds good. Will have to check and see if I have enough of everything without going to the store. Enjoy the rest of your day and evening!
