What exactly is "muscle recovery"?Originally Posted by scorbett1103
Exercise should NOT be added until your body has adjusted to ketosis, and even then should really be kept to a level where you do not work up a sweat or breathe heavily. The IP diet is FAR too low in calories for your body to handle sweating out a few hundred of them, and on top of that muscle recovery causes water retention. Consider that in light of the fact that the big drop most people see the first week of IP is a lot of water, and you can see why exercise may have kept you from seeing any movement on the scale.

Any tips on what I could have done/how I could have handled the situation better? We had just eaten dinner, and I'd had an IP peanut bar while they were having dessert -- if I'd had an emergency IP snack along with me, should I have eaten it after climbing the stairs?
