Also, just to let you know, 3lbs is really not the standard. IP used to preach this, but it's not realistic for women. It's very rare to have someone who's had a 3lb average over their weight loss journey. The losses just come and go as your body wants them to, if you stick to the plan 100%. Any loss is called good, and even gains happen (water retention, TOM, Big C, etc.). It's all part of the process.

Good luck! You can do this!
Thanks, for the pep talk , I feel better. I thought some people actually lost 7 a week. I am new to the diet. My start weight was 250 also. I looked at some of the weekly lb's lost and I see Now. Thanks again.

You're so welcome. The first week people have higher losses and then it slows down, and then it can fluctuate wildly. 7 lbs a week is really not realistic. It's hard not to compare yourself to others, but it's best not too. We all lose at our own rate. It is difficult at first to figure out these things (at least it was for me), but if your trust this diet, it will work for you. And you've had a great start! Congrats ! You can do this.
  • Just remember that most people see a big loss in the beginning, but eventually all of the bad stuff is purged from your body and you start losing pure fat. When you ONLY lose 1 lb, it's 1 lb of pure fat gone from your body. Nothing wrong with that. And yes, our bodies like to trick us and every once in a while you may see a less than ideal weight on the scale. So what! If you're doing the diet right, you are going to lose. It all averages out in your favor. Now, if you continue to gain every week, we may need to talk about what you're eating. This diet is confusing until you get in your groove and sometimes there are unintentional cheats. But, what you've experienced so far is normal. Don't worry about it. Keep going!
  • What a great group of people there are on this forum.
