  • Quote: Lucky you with your doctor in your corner.
I went to my doc Wednesday and his response was less than stellar after reviewing the info: "Meat, veggies, and protein powders? Couldn't you have done this on your own without the expense?"

My response: Yeah. I was being really successful with that, wasn't I.

Crickets after that. Got my point across
Maybe after the "crickets" and your success with IP, he will change his tune
  • Way to go! What a great first weigh in. I think this is the first diet that has worked for because of the fast results. I feel thinner and that encourages me not to cheat.

Why would I eat one cookie when not eating it means I could lose 2 lbs this week?

I had my 5th weigh in last Wednesday and am down 29.4 lbs! You can do it, just remember the reward of sticking with it. Once you drop a size it REALLY encourages you!
  • Quote: Hello. I am brand new to ideal protein and I am also brand new to 3 fat chicks on a diet. Today was my first weigh in after finishing a week of ideal protein. I honestly did not expect a big weight loss today. I am constantly dieting and I figured I have ruined my metabolism. I just don't lose weight like I use too. I am 33 years old. When I was in my teens and in my early 20's weight use to come off fairly easy. The past few years I have not been able to lose more than 20 pounds and that was hard to get off. I need to lose 90 pounds. Last week I weighed in at 239. I went in today to weigh in and I was 229! I lost 10 pounds in 6 days!!! I was floored! Needless to say, I am highly encouraged today that I made the right decision to do ideal protein.

Is there anyone else on here that has some encouraging words about ideal protein? Or is there anyone else that is new to ideal protein?

Today I went in and got the start up package! Week one begins Monday, I am also 33 and I weighed in at 226.7 today. I'm spending the weekend on the road with my boy for hockey tournaments and will be researching and reading so I'm ready come Monday! Good luck to us :-)
  • After grappling with sticker shock at my local clinic (and the only one close enough to get to without major travel hassles) - I bit the bullet and jumped on board.

I sort of half-started yesterday - as my consultation appt was late in the day. Had the salt and vinegar crisps as a pre-dinner snack - and I could happily live on those three days a week!

Took my vitamins and a dose of cod liver oil (icK!) - and made a stir fry with chicken, portobello mushrooms and green onions, that was amazing.

Today is my first full day on IP - and we have friends coming in for a board game day. Which usually means lots of wine, cheese and crackers - so it will be a test of my will power.

A good thing - because if I can get through a day like today without slipping - the rest will be golden.

I have a first early weigh-in on Tuesday - so not quite a full week. I'm hoping to see a little progress, but not expecting much so soon.

Also - my clinic had Chef Verati's phase 1 cookbook, which I bought. (A bit $$ though). I had seen in on the internet and passed because of the cost, but flipping through it at the clinic sold me on it.

I am so glad that I bought it. (Last night's stir fry came from the book). It has a ton of great recipes in it, and each makes 4 servings so good for a family as well.

Though - many of them call for Walden Farms items, but I think you could leave those out and get close to the same taste.
