Proud of losses, but Sooooo much more to lose!

  • I feel you. I've already lost the weight I'm trying to lose right now myself, and I'm only about twelve pounds down. I have 56 more pounds to go just to get to my preliminary goal, and then I have to reset my goals even lower. It's frustrating, having to wait for your body to do its thing when you've already lost the weight once and you just want it off right now. I totally get it!

Unfortunately all we can do is grit our teeth and keep pushing forward, even when we're not feeling it. I'm right there with you today. I guess the silver lining is that we've done it before, so we know we can do it again.

    I agree with this completely.
  • Thanks everyone for your responses. I find motivation and inspiration in all of them. I like the idea about breaking it down into increments so it isn't so daunting. I'm not giving up - can't give up really - because there aren't any altenatives except being heavy or continuing to gain weight.

I hope it will start to move a little quicker now I have been doing it for 5 weeks. A doctor said that sometimes your body hangs onto weight in the beginning (especially after a trauma like surgery) until it knows you are really serious and no excess calories are coming in and then, maybe after a month or more, you will start to see better losses. I hope that is what has happened with me!
