I had a similar thing. The seamstress declared my dress a "perfect fit" BUT I ORDERED IT 20LBS AGO! Ugh. I personally felt like the dress was too big but the seamstress said it was fine.

They even showed me the size chart from the company and the measurements they took from me (which matched the measurements I had taken of myself at home) when they ordered the dress. What the heck good is a size chart if it doesn't mean anything?! Ugggggh haha.

just 22 weeks until the wedding. i'm down 15 lbs and i think I can get down another 15 by the wedding. i'll just have to be careful that I plan things well with the alterations on my dress. how soon before the wedding should I alter the dress given the weight loss goals? I'm thinking 2 weeks prior but I don't want to cut it too close!

didn't go down a total of 30 lbs but did lose 24 and that is nothing to sneeze at. I'll try and post a pic soon.

yay, it worked! The pic to the far right is the bridesmaid dress I wore. It was a fun event. I'm glad I took off the weight. Looking at these pics really made me realize how much I needed to do that!

Here's a better pic of the dress I wore. it was a forgiving dress. I took it in 2 inches around the top but otherwise it fit well off the rack.

Ladybug, I did have fun. I was in a big party... they had 10 bridesmaids, 10 groomsmen, 6 juniors and 3 flower girls 3 ring bearers. more than 250 people showed up. it was the event of the year for me. I cried like a baby (it was my little brother's wedding). And... Happy to report I didn't over eat! I did have my cake and a couple cookies but I danced off those calories.
