My father's side is Italian, and the women swear by olive oil. Heck they use it as a hair treatment (this works nicely, as mine gets dry in the winter), during pregnancy and as treatment for dry skin. My aunt always said to use it every night, a little bit, and massage it into your skin. Plus it's safe for all types of skin too.

i'm a little late in this thread but i've tried everything for stretch marks to no avail except my most recent technique.. i have old stretch marks and the problem with most of the lotions and potions out there today are that they either prevent the marks from appearing or assist slightly in fading new stretch marks. after hearing a ton about it, i finally decided to try what is called a dermaroller. they're pretty popular but if you don't know what it is, you should definitely look it up! coupled with the cream of your choice it does wonders. i had red/purple, deep, long stretch marks and now you can barely tell that they're there. worth a shot, in my opinion.

I'm a late joiner too, but I've also had some success with the dermaroller. It's made more of a difference than any lotions I've tried! I'd be happy to post before and afters if anyone's interested in seeing.

I'm so pale my white ones don't show. Yes!! But I've used scar zone in the past and it helps. I have some new purple ones and that makes me excited that they can go away. Palmers cocoa butter lotion for pregnant women has good reviews too. If you've found a product that helps I'd have to just deal with the smell. Maybe by putting it on at night and washing it off in the shower in the morning? There aren't too many options.

As you will see in the pics, they started out a purply red, and have faded to more of a light pink/white. I would assume that it's just time that has faded them, but I got these results in 12 weeks! Just two rollering sessions and I'm already happier they're still gruesome, and I still have lots of weight to lose, but I'm happy with the progress so far. here they are:

It's not just the colour that has faded, the texture has become much more even on the ones that were already white, so if yours are white rather that pink/purple I'd still give it a shot! I should probably note here that I didn't use an actual branded dermaroller, I used a knock-off that I got on eBay

Damn, I have to find one. My problem is, I used to work at a beauty salon and they told me because my stretch marks are white it's too late. The pink/purple colour means that blood is still being supplied to the area. Something like they have to burn the stretch marks and ym body will heal itself. Crazy I say and way too pricey.

melodymist, I say still give it a try! I did a LOT of reading before I bought mine, and it turns out that the dermaroller works by pricking the skin over and over (looks like a torture device LOL) encouraging it to produce new collagen to heal itself. There's a whole community of ladies who use the dermaroller over at essentialdayspa.com, you should read through their experiences and see if it's for you!

Bio oil apparently helps, however its quite pricey.

I got my stretch marks when I was hitting puberty on my boobs and on the sides and insides of my thighs. Mine are white and are obviously quite old!

I heard biol oil helped but I bought a knock off one for £2 in wilkinsons and its an orange oil. It sinks into the skin really nicely and smells quite nice. My stretch marks have faded a TINY bit due to this, (could be my imagination!) but this could be a nicer smelling option other than olive oil x
