I'm back again! I went to see "Sweet Home Alabama" last evening as a treat... I've been in a dull spot lately. It was very light fare, but fun. I had the entire theater to myself! Very creepy on the spooky trailers, but I enjoyed it during the movie. Me and my diet soda, and NO POPCORN SMELLS!
Jennifer, I think the 5 lbs is a fantastic wt loss! Especially for just part of a month! How do you like the cabinets now that they have dried? I admire you for your energy!
Mauvaisroux- If you can't find the whole wheat locally, maybe one of the on-line stores is in your general area. I find it easier to get food shipped in the cooler months.
Nikki- That eggplant sounds very yum! I'll have to try it soon. I just love eggplant!
Anne- I'll have to check out the tapes. I just keep reading and trying to pick things from each diet that makes good sense to me.
About fiber, WW recently backed off their old fiber standards. It used to be that they subtracted points for lots of fiber. Now, they just count up to 4 or 5 gm in the calculations, and after that, all the food values are without deductions. They found that after a certain point, the calories mattered more than the fiber. I'd think it might be similiar with carbs, especially the more concentrated items. But, I tend to never subtract fiber, so I'm old fashioned
Aleka- The walk sounds great! I'm going to try out some of our parks and see where I feel comfortable walking. I live in a congested area.
I eat a LOT for breakfast and it is usually 6 to 12 points. Dining out, I get 2 sausage egg McMuffins and toss the muffins (most of the cheese goes too). At home, I have a cup of veges cooked in butter with at least 2 eggs, and usually some sausage or another meat. As I lose, I have to fiddle with reducing things, but I've learned I have to keep the protien high. Sometimes, I don't have a sausage or other fat in favor of something like ground turkey in a filling for an omlet. I rarely eat cheese, but when I do I like it to be real cheese. I hate the low-fat stuff, and it is usually low-fat with more carbs, not to mention additives. As Schwartzbein says "the cow knows best"
Well, I've been on a cooking hiatus this week. Any more good ideas that you are cooking? See you all soon,
