I love my job too. I work for woodstocks pizza as a delivery driver. I have amaizingly fun coworkers. Kick *** bosses. And product that I'm proud of. I never thought id have a job I love this much and be making good money! Stick in there. It'll come!

Sorry to break up the love but I HATE MY JOB !!!! - i work in a financial institution had about 3 "supervisors/managers" in the past 3 to 4 yrs & each one ended up being more disappointing than the last....now many issues later .....here I sit being part of the furniture & waiting for the supervisors position to be advertised all the while knowing that I can do the job but probably wont get it...if you know what the employment situation is in South Africa then you know why!! I've also been @ the same company for close to 19 yrs and should have left for better pay YEARS AGO!!! - oh well at least I have my health (SORT OF!!) lol

I was working at a vet clinic that was VERY negligent at times, spending most of my day charging an asinine amount of money to essentially euthanize as many pets as we saved, if not way more, depending on the day. With a boss who very well may be the worst person I've ever known. I just don't want to find myself in a position of being sooo miserable at work ever again (which I imagine to be much like how you feel, Ms JanVan!). And it's really hard to get over the stigma of being fired (although I should have said what I said, and promptly quit. I just really wanted to see how it all panned out in the end).

It is good to know that so many people have positive work experiences! Having a certain degree of autonomy, and working with kids definitely seems to be the going theme! Interesting


What's the least favorite job you've ever had?

Hate, hate, hate my job, but love the people I work with. I am a mortgage loan underwriter for a large bank, end of the month is crazy busy, beginning of the month you twiddle your thumbs. it's always feast or famine and you spend more time answering questions about what you did than you have time to get something new done. But it pays the bills, and pays well. And like I said, I love the people I work with.

seriously i hate it. a lot. i work with some awesome people, but i also work with a lot of very bad people and it doesn't trade off anymore.

Amen sista! I also work with some awesome people but the bad ones: I call them eggs 'cos they kinda have to be incubated - i hate being the "go to girl" I wish people here would just THINK for a change!!! - believe me if I could find something for more money you wouldnt see me for dust!!!

I LOVE my job! I work as a nanny for two little girls who are now 8 and 6, and I've been with them since before they were born. Sometimes my hours are really crazy and I can never count on being home at a certain time at the end of the day, so my DH and I rarely get to eat supper together, but that's about the only down side of my job. But I can always take time off when I want, and I'm free to plan each day as to what and where we're going to go and do. And the pay is great, too. They're as much a part of my family as I am, theirs, and we have mutual love and respect for each other.

I love my job - I live in Germany and I translate books published in German into English. Downside: no coworkers. Upside: I can do the work whenever and wherever I please. The work is also always challenging and I am constantly learning something new. I am also pursuing another degree here at a German university.... that allows me to see more people during the day!

I could foresee me doing this work for the rest of my life - hopefully there will always be something to translate! The translating computer programs aren't very effective - they only leave people confused.

I'm on disability now, but the job I loved most was teaching community college. I was only able to do it part time. I was working as a juvenile detention worker 50 - 60 hours a week when I started teaching part time. I liked my job at the juvenile detention center, but I loved the teaching.

I then became a probation officer (essentially a promotion from juvenile detention worker), which I also liked but didn't love. I continued to teach community college classes and was able to take on more classes, because the probation job required fewer hours 40 - 50.

For about 5 years I was burning the candle at both ends, in order to be able to do the job I loved (full-time teaching positions in colleges and community colleges are extremely hard to come by).

I accepted a job 60 miles from my college, with the new employer's promise that I would be able to continue teaching part-time (I intended to make the 60 mile commute). Shortly after I took the job, the new employer told me that training would be too intense for me to teach, so I called my department head at the college and was able to get a semester off, with the agreement and understanding of both new employer and college department head that I would teach the following semester (after training was completed at the new job). After the training was over, the new employer refused to allow me to work my schedule around two evening classes per week, so I had to give up the college teaching.

I think the years of working 90 hours a week contributed (along with my weight) to the health issues that put me on disability.

Still, if I had it to do over again, I still would have done it to have the opportunity to do something I loved so much. While I had jobs I liked, teaching the college classes was the most fun I ever had at a job. If I didn't have to make a living, I would have done it for free (and if you're familiar with the pay of community college part-time teachers you know I almost did).

When I figured in the hours I put in to prepare for classes, make and grade tests and assignments, meet with students, I was making less than minimum wage. And yet I still loved it.

I like my job I work at a home health agency and have a secretarial position. The work is slightly boring (answering phones, filing, etc.) but the people I work with are the best! I'm also a full time college student and I'll be graduating in a few days with my RN!! I am sooo excited to do that job!!!

but on a serious side, I wouldn't go as far as saying i LOVE my job, but I enjoy it tremendously. I am a merchandising specialist for Old Navy. I work at one of the stores inside the mall. I love the work itself, and I am always staying busy. I have really good hours for it being a retail job. Most of the people I work with are really cool. The job allows me to be a little creative when it comes to setting up the store as long as I follow the basic guidelines for the company. If you work less than 5 hours you get a 15 min break 5.01-6.5 hours you get a 15 min break plus a half hour off the clock lunch. and if you work 7-9 hours you get a hour off the clock break and 2 15 mins paid breaks...it works out pretty cool.

The bad... the demographics of the shoppers are kinda bad... lots and LOTS of shoplifters... my position is considered a part time position within the company, so even though I am working 32-40 hours a week, I don't get benefits.

But all in all it is a pretty decent job, but retail is not for everyone...

I also work in the financial industry and hate, hate, hate it!!!! Since the market tanked it has been really bad. There are days I wish I would have been one of the people that were laid off, but I am thankful I have a job. But I do work with a lot of great people. Once the job market turns around I will be gone!

I love my job. I'm an assistant at a company that owns bars, restaurants, and music venues.

i love my job. don't always love the people i work with though. and yes the hours bite at times...since we have been working overtime for about 6 months now. but after being a year without work i don't mind the overtime

I am in my 4th year as a middle school math teacher, and 80% of the time, I love my job. I don't love grading papers, or writing lesson plans, and I HATE the attitude that 13 year olds get sometimes, but the teaching part is pretty awesome, and my kids make me laugh every day
