My husband has just been terrific - he's spent hours on the internet searching for another "baby" to fill that hole in my heart. But no pet will ever replace her.

If I may suggest…I read the book once about people loosing pet and how they go thru such a hard time, and it was suggested that new puppy should not be brought into the house until owner took time to grieve the lose and be emotionally ready for new dog. What they said is, you feel so emotionally weak now that you will not be able to have strong energy and be a pack leader at the moment, so you should really take a month or so to grieve before you have new pet.
