  • I agree with everyone else. One hundred pounds in that short amount of time is a bit excessive and not the healthiest goal ever. Weight loss should be slower, you should be aiming to lose 1-2 pounds every week. You need to do a lot of research online and with your doctor to determine what is healthy weight loss and what isn't-- and honestly, 6 months of healthy eating and exercise is an automatic win, no matter how much weight you lose.
  • Wow!! Luv the feedback from everybody! I have thought it over and 100 lbs in 6 months is quite a stretch so I believe I will take Eliana's advice and proclaim to all that as of today I became a member of Curves (again!) and as for a meal plan, I seem to be able to handle the calorie counting fairly well so.....

That will be that! I am committing to this for the next six months and no, I would never be disappointed in a 48 lb loss. Actually, I would probably jump for joy at that! I understand that any weight loss is success and very rewarding! I have done too many other diets and failed miserably at them all to go through this again only to gain it all back and then some!

Nope!!!!! I can do this and I will do this by the grace of God! Come September 27th, where ever I am on the scale is where I am and I'm sure it will be far less than where I am now! Thanks to you all for the advice and support!! I just luv this website!!
  • I think it depends on you really. Are you an ambitious person who would be committed and big goals like this drive you to succeed? Do you love the challenge? If so, then I say go for it.

I am like that. I lost 125 lbs in about 7-8 months and feel great to be honest. I have seen my doctor about it and all is well.

I think it is totally what you are comfortable with and whatever works for you.
  • kaplods is right on, again Focus on your behaviors which you can control, and the results will follow as is possible.

yep, I think there's lots of joy that can be had from improving eating and exercise habits, life style change victories, dropping pounds, getting healthier. my life plans haven't always followed a perfect timeline, but I have made seriously good strides in the right direction. I see it as a situation where I have to weather the storms and embrace the accomplishments as much as possible.

speaking of storms, I'd better get my behind to the gym before I'm having to navigate a typhoon (literally, it's pouring outside).
