  • Hi everybody!!! Sounds like everyone is doing well!!! Lin, glad to hear from you. It sounds like you have so many things going on, I like that though...I like being busy and having tons to do..Right now I am still quilting the quilt. Every block takes an hour to quilt..I have 8 more to do..I must say I am very tired of doing it..(i also have a few more other things to do on the quilt, like the sashing and the borders. I will kiss this quilt when I am done!!! and dont worry i will put it somewhere on the net so you cn see it. When I am done I am going to sew shirts..Hawaiian shirts for me...I bought to material last year.

I have about 7 days to finnish the quilt. Husband is leaving for a private vacation with a buddy (it is ok, i went to Louisiana to see dd) and when he gets back (about 6 days from today) we will leave for a camping trip...I have all tht time to finnish the quilt and clean my quilt room.. I am planning some great WW meals, and hope to stay out of all resturants while he is gone, well at least the fst food ones.

Food is a bit off, nobodies fault except mine. Am back on now. I did lose .2 lbs in the two weeks...It is not much but I was excietd!@!! I mean it was only 2 oz!!! but it is 2 oz that is being subtracked and not added.

Well got a few errends and then back to quilting..

    bye now

    Kathy

ps,,,Lauren..congrads on the new car..i love new cars...in fact I love the Hond Civic EX. did you get Accord or Civic??? I bought two tickets to a raffel...They cost 20.00 a piece and they are only selling 2000 tickets...I thought I would have been contacted by now...darn it..
  • Hi, Turtles.

Kathy, it's an Accord LX. They were on monster sale, as Honda is trying to unload all its 2002 inventory. It ended up not costing much more than used. It's VERY nice. We drove it home yesterday. We've never had a car this nice before. We liked the Civic too, but DH is tall with very long arms and legs, and the Civic just wasn't quite roomy enough for him.

Today I'm driving the old Ford to Canada to give to some friends. It's a five-hour trip one way. Tomorrow I'll take the bus back (and that's an eight-hour trip!). So I'll be out of commission for the next couple of days. I'm not looking forward to this, but at least it'll get it out of the way before I start work next week.

TOM is winding down; I'm deflating as we speak. But I don't think I lost any weight this week. I just hope I didn't gain too much. I've been back within points the past couple of days, but I haven't gotten the exercise in.

Have a great day, turtles, and I'll see you on Thursday or so.

Oh, in case any of you missed this from the 3FC home page:
"According to Restaurant Confidential, one Bloomin Onion with the Dipping Sauce contains... 2130 calories and 163 grams of fat! Leave out the sauce and you still consume 1690 calories and 119 grams of fat, 57 of them saturated.

    Other shocking revelations...
The average Chinese restaurant serving of General Tso's Chicken contains 1600 calories and 59 grams fat. Kung Pao Chicken has 1620 calories and 76 grams fat."

    Onward and downward,

  • Hi, Turtles,

I know the thread is getting long, but I'm going to wait until tomorrow morning to change to a new one.

Lauren, enjoy your new car. Sounds cool!! Hope your trip goes OK. It doesn't sound wonderful, but giving your old car to someone who can use it is worth the effort, I think. I'm a believer in giving when I can and I know you are, too.

BTW-I got lucky yesterday if we were posting at the same time. Usually when that happens I lose my post or my internet conncection and have to start over.

Kathy, enjoy your quilting. I'm looking forward to seeing it. It sounds like you have a good plan to follow while your husband is away.

Um . . . your math is not right, kiddo. .2 pounds isn't 2 ounces. .2 is 2/10 (fraction) of a pound. There are 16 ounces in a pound and 1/10 is 1.6 ounces. 2/10 is actually 3.2 ounces. It doesn't make a lot of difference when you're talking about such a small amount, but those small amounts can add up to lots of pounds if you don't calculate them correcctly. (Both ways--up OR down ) Hope you don't mind the little math lesson.

I'm doing better. Feeling more like following the program. I'm eating much more normally. I think the whole thing was a terrible month with PMS and TOM. I've been taking my supplements and that seems to make a huge difference throughout the month these days.

The book is going fine. I should be starting the Harry Potter site within the next week or so. I've been working my way through an old computer game I never finished. It's cool. I've finally figured out what to do if a savegame gets corrupted, so I haven't had to start over. I might acutally finish this thing this summer.

Talk to you all later. Have a great day.

    Happy turtlin'!

  • !!
Hi Turtles!!! Hey I did better then I thought!!! 3.2 oz!!! very cool. I am must excited that I lost instead of gained. So far with the 6.8 lbs lost, no one has noticed. Maybe when I lose another 5 people will. I am looking forward to that..I defiently feel differently. Body feels good, weird how you can tell a difference with only 6 lbs. gone.

Quilt going well, only 1 1/2 more quilt blocks to quilt. Then It is on to the rest of the quilt. Still have about 4 days to complete it if we leave on Mon. 5 if we leave on Tuesday. Will show it off to the quilt group tomorrow nite. Excited about that.

DH will leave either tonight or tomorrow for Oregon, and I will be on my own for food, and I am the one that gets to write up the meal plan for the camping trip and I am excited about that. I will have to buy a few evil muchies for Jim, but will buy fun good stuff for both of us. WEll got to get doint something...

    See you all later..

    Kathy
  • Hi, turtles. I'm back from my two-day trip. It actually turned out to be lots of fun. I had a great time with my MIL, and I enjoyed the long bus trip home -- I read a wonderful book the whole way and had lots of Deep Thoughts.

Kathy, looks like you've got lots going on right now and lots to look forward to. Can't wait to see your quilt.

Lin, I'm glad the hormones have finally quieted down for you. I too really see the importance of that calcium now. If I miss even a couple of days, I can see the difference in my emotions. Weird.

Was over points both days, though, by just a tad. I knew each time what I'd eaten that put me over, too -- just a little forethought would've avoided that. Ah, well.

I'm up a half pound for the week. Looks like I'll have to adjust that Labor Day goal, but not by much, I hope. The main thing for me is to get my exercise -- something I didn't do much of this past week.

My dad arrives today (or maybe yesterda); he's staying with my brother first, then us this weekend. He and DH plan to do lots of projects around the house. I'd better get it clean first!

    Onward and downward,

    Lauren
