I count calories, but now I just estimate them in a very rough way so I just have an idea of about where I am. It works. My lowest daily is 1500 (though I did 1200 the other day after a day I MAJORLY overate) and I cyle between 1500-2000. 2000 is what I can maintain on but I like having higher days in there and boosting my metabolism.
I stay under 1500 calories a day. At 5'2" and 130-ish pounds, and doing 5-6 hours of exercise a week, I lose about a pound a week (or a little less).
I've been less than consistent for a few weeks now, and for the past week and a half I've been totally out of control and not counting at all. And over the next 2 weeks I'll be away from home a lot, eating out, and at family celebrations. So, for the next few weeks, whenever I can control when/where/what I eat, I'm sticking to 1200 a day. I know 1200 is effective for me, I just don't normally do it because it means being hungry a lot more and pretty much NO room for treats.
I count calories and try to stay around 1600 a day. I am pretty strict during the week, but I loosen up some on the weekends just so I don't feel like I'm on a diet.
