  • It didn't win. It's just a bun, some meat and some cheese. And maybe some other stuff thrown in. It's not a defeat, it is a meal.

    Something that REALLY stuck with me, that my friend told me, is that part of my problem is my "all or nothing" attitude. I am learning, slowly learning, that TRUE, LONG TERM weight-loss is not about winning or losing. It's not about defeat. It's about methodical, habit-changing, permanent lifestyle modification.

  • Breanna, this isn't a failure! It's a learning opportunity for current and future success. Don't dwell on things that happened in the past - it's over. Go forward with the new knowledge that staying with your plan feels lots better than giving in to temptation!
  • Continue the effort you've recently started. Though it's actually common to be 'strong' and more committed at the beginning of a diet/lifestyle change, I've also discovered that I gain strength as I go.

    After a few times of rejecting an unplanned item -- perhaps over the next few weeks -- you may find it increasingly easier to do so. This could be a very exciting discovery for you :-) So don't give up before you have a chance to surprise yourself!
