  • Hi Suz. I haven't tried a nutritionist. My body just doesn't process anything the way it used to so even when I am eating more healthily I still have the diarrhea. I've had the diabetes since 2002 and haven't had to be on meds yet so I hope I can quickly get my sugar down from a morning test of 130 to the 101-105 it had been.
I had a crown procedure begun today and since that was on my mind, I forgot to weigh myself this morning. I'll watch what I eat today and make tomorrow my start date. I started out yesterday with a five minute walk...all that I could do for now. If I keep that up, and add some time each day, I'll get back to my 2 fifteen minute walks each day. Thanks for the suggestions and support maria and suz.
  • G'day all,

Scales are going down ever so slowly however, more importantly I feel the best I have felt for some time

Interesting Suz that you experience with WW was similar to mine, so annoying that if you were able to do it once it seems impossible to repeat that goal

CJD it must be hard when you have a number of health issues, it must be very easy to just give up
However I feel sure your other health issues may not be as difficult to deal with if you did loose some weight....I know easily said!

It is a lovely day here this morning so I will have a ride on my bike before doing some work, at least I feel I have done my excercise for the day and that always makes me feel a little smug.

    Cheers,
    Maria
  • Morning Ladies

Maria I found with WW that the first time I did not know anyone but somehow managed to lose the weight but it was slow coming off, the second I knew most of the people as it was right in the village where I live but still found that the leader was more focused on the people who needed to lose the most weight

We got blasted with snow this weekend we were only supposed to get 5 to 10cm (2 to 4 inches) but ended up with 30 plus cm (over 12 inches) It was a good thing that it was light fluffy snow They said on the news last night that we have more snow now than at the same time last year

    take care Suz
  • Maria, I know that you are correct. Losing weight would benefit all my health issues. I haven't made great strides the couple of weeks since I declared my intentions but I've been trying to eliminate some of my poorer choices first and have lost 3 pounds. I have been thinking about joining WW at home but when I go to the site it seems to want me to join WW Online. That confused me.
  • CJD -I am a member of WW-Online and I find it fabulous. I used to be a member of this team many years ago and have just been lurking in the background and saw your post. I have lost 10% of my excess weight since I joined WW 3 months ago, I also did the At Home program a few years back but put all the weight on again. I can truely recommend it - if you have any problems just get in touch with me.

Hi girls - nice to speak to you again.

    Jenye -
  • I knew that i had not posted for about 3 weeks and would have a lot of catching up to do but it seems that no one else has been either
marie i hope all is well with you with all the fires and now floods that are happening in australia

Where is eveyone else is everybody OK My DH had cataract surgery about a mnoth ago and went back to see the surgeon for the last time this morning and has now booked the surgery for his other eye (april 7th) they will be both done and he can already see much better

    Take care Suz
  • Guys, I haven't been here for the longest time and haven't kept up with who and what is happening on the board. Ash, I do remember you from a few years ago. Hope you and your husband are doing okay.

I have been busy at work and have just been slightly down because of all the worry and gloom over the economy. So far, we in Oklahoma haven't seen horrible unemployment, but you cannot watch news without being aware of the spreading financial meltdown.

Slavika and Maria, I just heard that your countries are the first most friendly (Canada) and the third (Australia). The US is just 6th. Congratuations! I could attest to that by the few people I know from these countries.

I have sort of lost myself on weight. I did find out that my thyroid is functioning fine so I have no excuse in that department. Hmmm....Must just be moi.

I hope to get back here more often so I can get pumped up and motivated.

  • Good Day
It seems like everyone has vanished Is there anybody out there???

    Suz
  • Hi everyone: I haaven't vanished, but did spend about 3 weeks being sick with a severe case of bronchitis. My DH got it first and nicely shared it with me, and I think I got the worst of the deal. I am still coughing up gunk, and they tell me this coughing will last a long time.

I remember you Ash, from some time ago. Hi again. And CJD I can relate to the Osteo, but at least you can take meds. Because of esophogeal problems I can't take any of that stuff. I have used both Miacalcin and Fortical, and they make my nose bleed. so I just take my calcium and exercise as much as I can, and try to stay healthy, and not do anything foolish so that I don't break anything.

Suz says she is the baby of the group, and I am the grandma, at 79. I can hardly believe it myself, but I think it is only a chronological age, not at all the way I feel and think.

Glenda- I am getting so I don't want to listen to all the doom and gloom on the news all the time. The commentators make everyghing sound so hopeless, and I still believe we have a great country and there is always hope.

Ar you all getting ready to watch the Dancing With the Stars program for spring?

I am still having difficulty getting my mind and body on the new time. It usually takes me about a week to get on the new time frame.

I lost three lbs while I was sick and hope to keep it off and lose some more, but it is the never ending struggle of life. We were watching the Dr.s on tv this week and they were talking about the discovery of a fat gene. I think I'll use that as my excuse. :

That's it for today. Keep up the good work everyone.

    Ann
  • good Afternoon
Well its seems that everyone here has jumped ship I am not sure where Maria has gone hope everything is OK
I have started a new weight loss journey and am hoping that it works this time for good I can not wait for nice weather so I can get out every day and work in my garden

If anyone is out and reading but not posting shame on us for not keeping this going for Maria

    Suz
  • Where Is Everyone?
I haven't been to this board since the new year. Looks like everyone has abandoned this board. If there was an earlier post, I couldn't find it so I am bringing this one up to the top. Come back and let us get this going agiain.
  • Trudy
I kept checking but have not posted anything for almost 2 months it seems since Maria stopped posting no one else bothered to continue I had thought about starting a new thread of my own but we are really busy right now with gardening Does anyone know why Maria stopped posting?

    Suz
  • Hi..
Hi Suz, I think Maria has been busy with her little business and her grandchildren. Too bad we let the thread slide, I am guilty of that. I have been sitting at 10 lbs above WW goal for so long now, can't seem to budge it no matter what I try. I still work out regularly, I am not sedintary, but I am probably eating too much inbetween meals. After all these years I am still a work in progress.
I believe you are in Ontario? I don't think your weather is any better than ours, have you been able to get your garden going?
Maybe one of the other gals will return and we can get back to encouraging each other.
  • Trudy
I am in ontario and it has been cool so far but my DH said that Saturday is supposed to get quite warm
I have been working at losing weight and so far i am down 12 lbs with about another 18 to go i exercise 3 times per week and try to walk my 6k route another 2 or 3 times a week plus all the stuff around the house
My veggie garden is all in except for a bit more lettuce and later second plantings of beans
    Suz
  • Guys, I haven't been here in just forever. Seems that every time I came here nobody had posted and I just got out of the habit. But I am back. Might end up just talking to myself, but I am back.

I have recently become a real vegan which is a vegetarian withou milk and eggs. I have found it is not that difficult. At first I lost about 10 pounds but now seem to be on a plateau. But I feel wonderful. One thing I have started doing is eating a lot of fruit and drinking a lot of water. I won't push this on anybody else, but for me it feels good.

Well, I hope everyone's lives are moving along smoothly. We just had a hailstorm at work. Leon and I both drove today so both cars were involved. His already was dented from a previous storm and now mine is probably matching. We have never had hail like we have had in the last two years. Global warming?

    Have a wonderful weekend.
