  • Well you all are chatty this morning! Thought I would pop in early before the you know what hits the fan here at work. Looks like it is going to pick right up where it left off yesterday as the phone is already ringing off the hook. I guess I shouldn't complain given the state of the economy right? Positive thoughts!

I have to go this afternoon and take my state test, fingers crossed I pass, and would it be wrong to wish to score higher than the boss?

Off to read the accountability thread, have a great one ladies!
  • Chatty Cathys you all are this morning!

Kara - Maybe we should all just poke holes in boxes and send our kids to one location. A giant playdate?

Ruth - Sorry you've spent so much. We're on electric heat and have been trying to watch how much we use it as well. We bundle up Have fun with your new camera!

Cyndi - I hear you on not even having started on holiday stuff :/ I really need to get a move on....Thankfully a lot of the people (DH mainly) that are receiving actual gifts and not holiday baskets have lists that are filled with things that can only be ordered online. There are just a few things that I actually need to get in stores.

Spooky - I'm sorry to hear that your roof cannot be patched. My family went through a lot of unexpected expenses last year....such stressful times! Just remember that when there is a will, there is a way. You'll find a way.

The kitty outfits? My kitty would hate it....and me. Cute idea though.

Also, you were productive in that time you weren't sleeping!! Impressive!

Schmoo - Have fun with your kids this weekend...I'm not sure how old they are, so suggestions from me are rather limited

Stephanie - Have a great day!

Jenny, I'm responding to your post in yesterday's chat. I have a project set up for DS for next week when I'm busy getting things together for Thanksgiving. He's making Turkey placemats for everyone. I printed some Thanksgiving themed coloring pages for him to color and also cut out some leaves out of fall colored construction paper. After he colors the sheets, we'll assemble them on some laminate paper to seal. He is excited about getting to contribute and since he has to do a bunch, it should keep him out of my hair for a few hours.

    -
I stopped by SIL to pick up some of her laundry yesterday because she has been out of a washer since Nov. 4. She's homeschooling 3 kids and injured which hasn't left her a lot of time to get to a laundrymat. I took 6 loads and will probably head to the laundry this afternoon and deliver it on the way home.

Other than that, I have dishes and some cleaning to do. I was so pooped last night that I just left the dishes in the sink

    Have a great day, girls!
  • Hi! Already late! Will post later! Have a great day girls!
  • Good morning early birds! Happy Thursday!

Ruth - You're up crazy early this morning! And it already sounds like it's been really busy. Glad to hear that you had a good time with the pups yesterday. How's Disney dealing with the new guy???

Cyndi - Meetings far away are not fun. I hope the drives not too bad. Love the new avatar.....very serene.

Spooky - Sorry about the bad roof news. I hope you're able to find a contractor that you can trust that won't cost you an arm and a leg. I hope today is much better.

Kara - Bummer about the battery being dead. Glad to know that Tom's home and you got it all figured out. STAY OUT OF THE COOKIES!!!!! You had such an accomplishment yesterday, stick with it!

Cottage - Survivor should be good tonight! Do you have an predictions on who's going to make it to the finals??? I'm totally torn at this point, it could be a few different people. We'll see

Schmoodle - Nice that you have a quiet morning to yourself. Since Dad's home, I think the treat needs to be an outing with dad and mom.....do you think that would fly???

Stephanie - Good luck on your test results! I'm sure you did great!

Zeff - That's really sweet of you! It's great that you are helping her out.

    Lisa - Morning!!!

Me - So last night I thought I had pulled out salmon for dinner (actually I thought that I had left it in the fridge when we brought it home from the store). To my surprise, however, when I came home I found the fish in the freezer. So we were not too good and went to get Chinese food for dinner. I didn't have rice or noodles, but the dishes I did have probably weren't the best options. I need to stop sabotaging myself. Today the fish is out of the freezer for dinner......but it doesn't help the number on the scale this morning.
Sat down last night and created my grocery list for thanksgiving next week. It's not too bad, so now I just need to figure out what we're eating the rest of the week and it'll all be done. I'm going to stick with my Phase one eating until thanksgiving.
I'm taking students on a fieldtrip today, so I should get going.
    Have a great Thursday!
    BLESSINGS!
  • wow, lots of enjoyable posts today. Woke up to a good layer of snow this morning.
Yesterday I had a dental appointment and came home with a huge headache but today its gone.
Short on time today so I hope everyone has a good day.
p.s. I really appreciate the accountability thread, its givinging more ideas on what to eat. Have been in a rut eating the same thing over and over.
so have a good day chickies.
    Sophie
  • Wow, 18 posts before 9:30! I can't keep up with you chickies!

Ruth, I cannot WAIT to see your puppy pics. Don't forget to figure out the video portion of your camera...I want to see those cuties in motion, too! (demanding wench, aren't I? ) Love the name Jazz!

Hey, now, I think Cyndi can leave her gorgeous butterfly as long as she wants. I'm a creature of habit myself and didn't change my avatar for about 3 years. Really. It's just in the last year that I've been changing it. Actually, I see no reason to change Fall decorations until after Thanksgiving. After all, it IS a harvest festival (that's what I keep telling myself as I watch the snow fall...). I'll change mine after T-day. I think I'm feeling really resistant because here in the States, apparently in an attempt to get money from us while we still have it, most retailers have started Christmas 1.5 months early this year. They were playing Christmas music at the end of October at some of the stores. That makes me crazy!!!!

Ruth, I highly recommend a fleece thingy to wear on the couch. I got one for my friend Tricia who's always cold--it had an enclosed bottom with little elastic cuffs around the ankles so you could walk in it (kind of like a penguin, though...) like this one. Here are some other variations:
    Podlett
    Snuggie (as seen on TV)
Sexy Footy Pajamas (made in Canada!)
    Cuddlewraps

I'm glad it's Thursday! I have photo class tomorrow and, hopefully, some time with a friend in the afternoon. We usually share some wine and chat while her boys are taking a nap. It's nice. Otherwise, I have tons of errands to run, a lot of prep for Christmas to do, and cleaning of the house in prep for book club meeting next Monday.

Hope you all have a great day and stay warm!
  • I'll be back later to read thru the posts. Running to DD's school for their Thanksgiving feast, then to DS's school for an hour of math games.

I am getting sick. What is it that we take again when you feel a cold coming on? I know this was mentioned in the past.
    Thanks!
  • Jen - you can get Emergen-C over the counter. Go take some and drink loads of it. You should feel better soon - if you do get a full blown cold, it will shorten it.

Laurie - I never thought I would see the words sexy footy and jammies all together. Are they crotchless? I really can't think of how else they would be sexy.

Frick. I have heartburn and just realized I don't have any antacids. DH has my car today....this is going to make for a crabby zeffryn.
  • Quick checkin for me - I never thought I would make it.

Glad to see everyone is doing well for the most part.

    Have a great day!
  • Did you follow the link zeff? Maybe I'll order the one with the flames for DH1
  • Quote: Did you follow the link zeff? Maybe I'll order the one with the flames for DH1
    Oy.

I would say get a matching pair for yourself, but with your "to-do" list, I don't think you'll get much use out of them

Unfortunately, none of the sizing fits my DH. He's too tall and thin. Arse.

Though some of you might enjoy this link and convert some of the recipes to SBD friendly.

  • Hi everyone! I'm just introducing myself! I'm looking forward to starting SBD Phase I again after I re-read the book. I used SBD to lose about 25 lbs. in 2006 and I need to get the rest of this weight off. I think its great that you all support one another! I can't wait to be apart of the group!
  • Welcome, gradschoolmomma.

What are you in grad school for?
  • Anyone know what to do for a severly painful pulled calf muscle? I reached up to high this morning and I guess it was still to cold and not ready so needless to say I have pain & discomfort - been takin ibuprofen

    Welcome gradschool!
