2 reasons to do this: to give me more energy and to help with losing weight.

    My reward: new clothes

    My update: 14/30 days
  • Seems I'm tardy to the party! Well, it's still the 20th here on the left coast.

    Amber's Commitment!!!

30 of the next 30 days

    2 reasons to do this:
I need to form a solid exercise habit and increase my cardio endurance.

    My reward:
A new winter coat. I desperately need one, and not one that fits like a tent!

    My update:
    5/30 days
  • Ruth's Commitment!!

17 of the next 30 days! I work 12 1/2 hour shifts, which if you include travelling time means I am away from home from 5:45 am until 7:45 pm. Realistically I'm not then going to turn around and exercise - it takes everything for me not to drag myself to bed as soon as I get home! So I counted all the days I'm not working in the next 30, and there are 17. I will exercise on every one of those 17 days.

2 reasons to do this: To increase my energy levels, and to kick my weight loss back up again.

    My reward: A massage!!

    My update: 6/17 days.
  • Haley's Commitment
30 of the next 30 days

2 reasons: I want to be a good influence on my daughter and I want the boost in calorie burning that exercise gives.

    My reward: TBD

    26/30
what I've done:walked around pizza putt for 4 hours, walked up and down a long steep hill to get to school x17, arc trainer x3, jogged x7, walked x4, ran around playground with daughter x2

I've missed 4 days of exercise
  • Kelly's Challenge Goals: (running late but, it's only 0600 on the West Coast so this is good - it will make it so I HAVE to go to the gym today!)

    I will exercise:
30 of the next 30 days!

    What I plan to do:
Jog at least 5k on SuMWF, swim on Sa, Lift SaSu and either WiiFit or dog walk for 30 minutes on TR

2 reasons to do this: Because all of you are so I want to and because I really want to be able to exercise more consistently - I work in an anti-aging lab and we do research on longevity - guess who lives longer? People who exercise more! So, I want to live longer!

My reward: Probably compression shorts for my impending 5ks....maybe I can get them in RED

    My update: 8/30 days

    Activity Log:
    21Sep2008 - upper body lift (35m) + jog 5 miles (60 m) + strechings (5m) = 100min
    22Sep2008 - jog 5k (33:59m) = 34min
    23Sep2008 - upper body lift (25m) + Wii Step Aerobics (30m) = 55min
    24Sep2008 - jog 5k (32:29m) = 32min
    25Sep2008 - dog park walking (30m) = 30min
    26Sep2008 - jog 5k (31:01m) = 31min
    27Sep2008 - lower body lift (30m) + bike (35m) = 65min
Week 1: Total exercise time = 5.78 HOURS! 14.3 miles jogging!
    28Sep2008 - Body tests/pushups (20m) + jog 5.11 miles (60 m) + walk 5 m + swim (25m) = 110min
  • Okay, this really scares me to do because exercise is my hardest thing. So because it is, I HAVE to do it. Here goes:

I will exercise: 30 of the next 30 days

What I plan to do: Anything that gets my body moving. I had knee surgery a few months ago so I can't do any heavy cardio yet, but I can do SOMEthing every day. Walk, stretch, ellliptical, weights; not sure what the routine will be yet.

2 reasons to do this: Because I know that if I don't it will be too easy to let the whole thing go and continue sitting on my a$$. And because I know that lasting weight loss will not happen unless I exercise.

    My reward: A pedicure

    My update: 0/30
  • Isabella's Commitment:

Goal: 22 (30) days of exercise at least and more if I can.

    Two Reasons to keep committed:

Reward: Satisfaction (but I'll think of something more tangible to post)

  • COMMIT ME!

30 of the next 30 days!

    2 reasons to do this:
--KEEPS ME IN A BETTER MOOD
--RESTARTS ME WHEN I'VE LOST CONTROL
    My reward: MANICURE
    My update: 3/30
    Sunday: walking around town
    Monday: long walk
Tuesday : 45 min at the gym and a 45 min walk to work
  • Ok if we are counting walking or fun movement, I can most definitely do 30/30!

Two reasons I should keep the commitment are my health and my self-esteem. I have a hard time following through on promises to myself, so each one I keep allows me to feel better about myself.

I will reward myself with a new bathing suit for swim practice.

    1/30
  • 30 of the next 30

    Reasons-
    1. Feel better
    2. Keeps me on track

    Reward-
    ? Not sure yet.

    Update- 30/30 I DID IT!!!
  • I should be committed...

My Committment - 4 regular gym days each week and at least 30 minutes of planned exercise of some sort - weights/walking/calistethics for the next 30 days.

Why I'm Doing This: When I focus on exercising I not only feel better about myself but it tends to pull me in line with other good habits like my menus and water intake.

My reward: The wonderful feeling of actually sticking with something for more than 5 days and of course I expect some side perks like loser clothing and lower numbers on the scale

Track Record: 6/30 (Started Sunday 09/21) Temporarily Sidelined with a hip problem but I'm not giving up
