  • i did a sort of "detox" diet to improve my skin. It was called a detox diet, but it was basically a "cut out anything that could be irritating you and everything that could be bad for you like excess salt, fat, sugar, chemicals, etc" diet. I think this kind of diet will "cleanse" you more than a detox pack you buy or just having water with no food. It worked for my skin by the way but how much is placebo and how much is real we will never know (who cares it worked )
  • I'd say the healthiest option would be to talk to your doctor about what would be the best option for you if you feel like you need to "cleanse" for a couple of days. I'm not an expert, so I'd recommend asking someone who is.
  • after day 1 of only water, in the end, i couldnt do it. By the middle of day, my stomach hurted so bad that I had to eat bread to ease the pain. Anyways, I asked my friend - who's not a nutritionist but at least she's doctor - and so she said - if you drink only water then you'll just get your stomach upset and it's not a healthy way. So instead of eating just water, and if you want to "cleanse" your body then try to eat lots of fruits, steamed veggies and tea/water. DONOT just drink water alone =.='
  • having a fair amount of fibre would probably help clean the drains out too

Really the only thing that people should cleanse is their colons. All of that half and undigested food..... yuck.
This is also bogus. There is no such thing as "half digested" food in your colon. If waste mater has made it to your colon, then it is, by defintion, DIGESTED. All of the nutrients have been absorbed from the food during it's time in your stomach, and through the small intestine. By the time what's left makes it to your colon (the bottom part of your large intestine) it is thoroughly digested.

Anyone who tells you differently - or tells you that your colon is full of 1/2 digested food - is trying to sell you something.

And there's no need to have special drinks, cleanses, or products to remove that material. If you're suffering from constipation, there are natural ways to get things moving - drinking more water, eating prunes (dried plums), adding more fiber. For some people a good long walk or run will do it.

But our bodies are self-cleansing. There is no need to "purge" them, "detox" them, "cleanse" them ... or any other of this silliness that goes around in the name of a magic fix.
