  • Congratulations! I'm so excited for you

On the topic of gaining weight for your pregnancy, you're going to want to talk to your doctor about exercising and weight gain. They've been coming out with studies [really interesting] about how women who are either slightly overweight or very overweight should either maintain or lose weight while pregnant. They also came out with how no one knows how hard or long you should work out while preggers....stories of athletes training just as hard, or not training at all....

Anyways. Sorry. I'm still cracked out on medication right now. The whole point was to say, congrats!!!
  • Congrats!! Babies are such an incredible blessing.
  • LisaMarie,

  • That is amazing! Congratulations on your pregnancy! It so easy to forget that bodies aren't mean to be at unhealthy weights, and that when suffering extra baggage that aren't working correctly. Thanks for that reminder, and enjoy a wonderful 9ish months of miracles.

  • Congratulations! This will prove to be a wonderful experience for you. About the weight loss, you can do it without gaining a ton of weight. But, you and your doctor should discuss it and find the range that will be good for you. I just finished up this little miracle process myself. See this post of mine for the scoop . . . http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/show...=116106&page=2

    That's Wonderful News!
I was pregnant with my first and only at 38...I like being an "older mom" too.

I wish someone had reminded me (often) that I was NOT eating for two, as a pregnant woman. No, I was eating for me and a baby, who is going to subsist on 4-8 oz of liquid every two hours (total 96 oz), the first few weeks after he or she is born and not a whole lot more after that...and by the way, that kiddo will be doubling in size that first year, too.
IF I had kept THAT in mind, perhaps I wouldn't have come so close to doubling in size myself.

If I had thought to eat like a "healthy" woman, then I'd have done a lot better...
But I have to admit - I loved being prenant and I love being a mom...
    Enjoy.
  • Congrats, Lisa Marie!
