  • After a good day, I test around the trace/low level, and as evidenced by my loss of a dress size, this seems to be quite sufficient. And as long as I eat according to plan, I'll still be in this range whether I test or not. But I have a slightly different angle. • Im new to the low carb thing and went on this program that requires you to get blood work done and my doctor had wanted me to get a urinalysis too. but i had to fast for 12 hours before the bloodwork and within less than 48 hours i was already in ketosis. I didnt know that was the goal of low carb at the time and he called me freaking out about me "spilling ketones all over the place" scared i searched the net and found more info than talked to a nutritionist about it and found out it is normal to happen within 48 hours of a diet consisting of 20g carbs or less
