Eek! Do they know the cause?? You should be okay outdoors if you wear a wide brimmed hat, long sleeves and pants and lots of sunscreen, don't you think? Jeez, I hope it goes away. Get tested again soon, maybe it was a mistake!
I'm sitting up watching tv and waiting for DD and Bf to show up. But I really shouldn't be online in case she's calling. Oh well. Tata
Oh Dear Peach!!!! Could it be just a bladder or Kidney infection??? I do hope that this is minor!
Wabby-- the cola Chicken dish is a staple in our house.. Fast easy and tasty!
How about a needlepoint project? While I don't want to get yer hopes up, if the house thing goes through you can start buying house building mags and cutting out pics of stuff you like..
DH has a cutover tonight and tomorrow..hopefully the weather will be nice on Sunday as we will go back out to that property,, and I'll take some pics to post.
What's a cutover? Sounds like what they do to forests up here...
Schatzi, did you hear about that explosion in Apex? I hope that's not nearby, sounds bad.
Why would you name a town Apex anyway? Seems a little presumptious to me, just asking for trouble.
The kids showed up at 3 am this morning, and they are already out and about this morning. BF picked up DD over an hour ago to go visit some teachers at the h.s. Gluttons for punishment, aren't they? She looks tired but good.
Sorry for the techno speak DH is a Cisco IP telephony engineer..A company is switching over from standard phones to Cisco phones, so the engineers are "cutting over" two offices this weekend..
Apex is the next town over.. We are all shut indoors with the air conditioning on. We heard the explosions last night-- and news spread quickly about the chemical plant exploding. Folks were evacuated fairly quickly and orderly.. Now they are concerned about the water/soil and air contamination.. How a chemical plant was built so near a residential area or visaversa, I dunno know. Thankfully no one was seriously injured..mostly respiratory complaints... but they 've all been released from the hospitals. Right now it looks like they are just going to let the fire burn out, as the Firefighters and Hazmat dont really know what they are dealing with as there is a myriad of chemicals and compounds.. and some dont really know what the chemical changes are with all of it mixing together and exposed to high heat... or so they are saying currently on the TeeeVeee.

Here's how dim (as in dim bulb ) I am: when I read that, my first thought was "wow, could it really be almost spring?" Of course then I realized that bulbs are planted in the fall, but really, I think you could have convinced me that it was almost spring if you tried. Apparently I have no brain.
Now, speaking of dd being home -- we are hardly seeing her anyway. Yesterday she went over to school with BF to visit, then went with him to Stinkytown to get his mother's car worked on. It was only supposed to take a few hours, but it pretty much took all day. We did have dinner together and went out to the h.s. football game, where all her friends were going to meet. That was fun, we saw a lot of the kids back from college for the weekend and their parents and various other people we know. Oh, yeah, not so much of the game but since when did I ever go to a football game and watch the whole thing? But then the kids went out and DH and I went home. And DD decided to go with BF and his dad and brother hunting today so I don't expect to see her till dinnertime again. And she has to leave around noon tomorrow to get back for the dance performance she wants to see.
Well, it's another beautiful fall day. I should go play ball with the dog and then go to the store for more ice cream makings. I made a batch of churned ice cream last night, vanilla with chopped up dark chocolate in it. I'm thinking of orange sherbet today. I'm thinking homemade ice cream will entice DD to drag her friends over here this evening, at least for a while...
Happy DAY you CWAZY CANUCKS!!!! I know it's Monday , but I hear many a canadian celebrates the whole weekend long...

Must go back to my Book... I'm on book 1 of 6 of The Outlander series by Diana Galbadon ... It is a scrumptious read...! My gfren was surprised that I hadn't heard nor read it and promptly packed up her series and send it ...Tis a purrrefectly dismal day..overcast, rainy for a good snuggle and book!~
Blimey! I don't check in for a few days and disaster strikes everywhere!
Peachy - Get better soon! I'm hoping it's nothing to worry about.
And Schatzi - Geez! How scary. Glad you weren't too close to that
I had the WORST week. Felt like barfing from Wednesday to Friday but didn't have it as bad as DH who DID actually barf on Wednesday night. Bleh. Had to go on a picnic with Boy10's class on Thursday afternoon and that nearly killed me. Feeling better now but still breaking out into a sweat for no apparent reason. I guess I'll be strong enough to shove a turkey in the oven tomorrow for Thanksgiving.
And HAPPY BIRTHDAY Painty dear! This calls for a dancing carrot.
Home churned Ice cream..how purrrfectly maineish, provincal and I bet YUMMY!
Where the H*LLLLL is Stinkytown???? And thanks , because I will be stuck with this in my head all day:..........
Won't you take me to
Stinkytown.
Yep, thanks, won't be getting that out of my head for a few days.... Stinkytown is my internet nickname for a neighboring town that sports a paper mill that makes Kraft paper, thereby emitting an odiferous charm that can give one pause. Of course I live on the outskirts of a paper mill town as well, but it doesn't make the same kind of paper and doesn't have that really bad sulferous smell. Sometimes it smells a bit like overcooked coffee; that's the worst that it gets.
Just so you know, I used an electric ice cream maker for my home churned yummies, but I must say there were very well received. We entertained all of DDbf's family. Nine people in the living room which seats 5. They are all very laid back, thank goodness. The vanilla w/choc bits was delicious, but the fresh-squeezed orange sherbet was awesome!! And actually not a bad choice for the diet-conscious. The quart of sherbet contained 3 cups of whole millk, 2 cups of orange juice, 1-1/2 cups of sugar and a pinch of salt. I could easily choose that over the heavy cream stuff any time because it was sooo good. I wonder how it measures up for price. I'll have to figure that out; it may be worthwhile to make this stuff more often. Certainly healthier than xanthan gum, wouldn't you think?
Poor Sugar, I hope you feel better and don't get nauseous on turkey day!
I have to go look at the new smilies. Back in a minute.... Oh this is lovely. So many choices!! Must have many bats... Many many bats.
