Hi Claire!

Now if I can just get back to some scale victories, that would be even better!

Congrat's on the doctor visit. When I went back to my specialist for my 4 mo. appt. after being told to lose weight, my doctor was ecstatic. My BP meds were all cut in half, I was taken off glyburide for my blood sugar, and put on glucophage for the high insulin and PCOS, my liver enzymes had went down 4-fold and I was 31 lbs. lighter. He made me feel great for the vast improvement in my health. It really gave me the motivation to keep going. I hope someday to be completly off BP med's. Before, I always hated to see the doctor because of my weight and health problems. My next appt. is June 30 and I can't wait for him to see how much better things are once again. It feels just great when our physician see's how hard we're working.

Oh, that's great! That's me too, I hated going to the doctor before. I had a different doctor before this one, she had just lost about 30 pounds herself and you'd think she'd understand but she was mostly .... not nice to me. She made me feel worse, and angry, and treated me like I was stupid. I've been dieting my whole life, I know a lot about what to do and what not to do, I just had so much trouble actually DOING any of it, but she always made me feel... inferior. Fortunately she left the practice - I hadn't worked up the nerve to do anything about it - and I switched to a new doc at the same practice. I love her! She still gave me what-for about being fat and about my high numbers, but she never made me feel bad, just encouraged me to do what I knew I needed to do!

Congratulations on doing so well and reducing your meds! Even though we're still overweight on the outside, it's so good to know that we are healthier on the inside.

My doctor is just the opposite... she is so sweet and encouraging! Last time I went I had only lost about 20 pounds and my blood pressure was much lower... and she told me she was proud of me! I really feel blessed to have her!
