Trish... I forgot to add that Olivia is a fave of mine. If baby #2 is a girl that may be a possibilty for us. I like older, more traditional names... that would be why Emma was our #1 choice for 2 years before we got PG!

Hi Guys! Just popping in quickly - I am busybusybusy trying to get this paper written (still!). Blokey is away at his parents' tonight so I am taking advantage and working late. Joy! I treated myself to a Starbuck's low-fat muffin this afternoon, just to keep me going (4pts!).

Glad everyone had a good weekend, speaking of baby names, Trish (it was me who asked, btw, I'm so nosey!), Blokey and I were talking about it last night, because yesterday we went to a wildlife park and of course it was full of cute (and some not-so-cute) little kiddies. Aaaaaaw. I think I am more adventurous with names than my beloved, I do NOT want to have a kiddie with the same name as half the other kids in the class. When I was at school, we had 6 Katies, 2 Kates, and about 3 Kathryns, plus a lot of Clares, Alisons, Louises and Emmas. The boys were all Simons and Matthews and Chrisses and Pauls. Jen, I'm with you on Olivia, I think it's a pretty name, and Trish - I love Emily for a girl. One of my fave names is Nuria, because it's a Spanish name that hasn't really been used by English people, and I've known 4 or 5 Nurias and they've all been lovely (that always helps doesn't it?). I always liked Barney for a boy, but unfortunately with blokey's surname (Barge) he would sound like a music-hall performer

Ok, back to work - btw, I'm def an early morning person. I like to be in work as soon after I get up as possible.

hugs,
Lxxx

Hi everyone! There's been more than 100 views of the thread so far today ... wow! Is it really just the same 19 people who posted or do we have tons of lurkers about? Come out and say hi!

I see we're talking about baby names again. Speaking of babies, found out last week that my 22-year-old step-brother's 20-year-old girlfriend is pregnant. Five months pregnant! My brother waited until now to tell my dad, and that's only because my step-sister forced him to. My brother is a bit of a juvenile delinquent ... aside from the court record (nothing TOO serious, thank goodness), this is second girl he's gotten pregnant in the past few years, only they both miscarried (or so my brother told my step-dad). He's going the same route as my step-sister ... kid first, then get married. She's now divorced at 28 with two kids. It's tough on my dad. He's ex-military, fairly conservative, doesn't even like that I'm living with my b/f, although he realizes I'm much more stable than his "real" kids.

Anyway ... I kind of went off on a tangent there. Sorry.

I ate like a pig all weekend, until last night when I realized how silly I was being. So I took the dogs for a walk, then went for a bike ride, then made myself a piece of salmon on the grill with a baked potato and corn on the cob. Yummy! But then I had Chickfilet for lunch. What a lot of grease that was. Tasted good, but now I feel sluggish.

WHAT ARE FROSTY PAWS?

Belle: That's great that your b/f is including you in the process. Just be careful ... make sure you're absolutely sure about him before you follow him.

Well, I better get back to work. Actually, I need to try to sneak out to the DMV to renew my car registration. I could do it by phone or on-line, but I want to get new plates with the "animal friendly" logo. They have a picture of a puppy and kitten on them!

See ya!

Default Ooh, forgot!

My b/f expressed interest this weekend in starting to look for places to hold our wedding. I mentioned a couple places I had heard about (you know I have this planned already! ) and he suggested going to look at them!

I told him I'd like to be engaged before we do that, which he agreed. So maybe it's coming soon ...!

Yah Trish... what are frosty paws?? I think Sadie would def. like them. She eats ANYTHING!! She has learned that Emma will give her crackers if she begs by her high chair. Emma just puts her hand by her to be nice (she has no clue what she is doing) and Sadie gobbles them down! It is frustrating after awhile!!

Lolly... Emma is definately NOT as popular here as in England... SHEWWWW... this coming from a Jennifer!! I never am alone as a Jennifer! ARGGG!!!

Geez... work work work... I am a busy bee today! More later

I just got a voicemail from my niece - it said:

"Hi, It's Julianna - I love you. I miss you. Love Auntie Paulie....miss you. Call me.". She is 2 1/2 years old. Oh my god it was super cute. She calls me auntie Paulie. Everyone has an IE of some sort. Those are the moments that make life worth it!

Kim Congrats on the wedding talk! Think we are a ways from there....now if you could only get that RING!!!

I'll tell you all how WI and the haircut went, but I have to run.

Oh Lolly - my dog's name is Barney - so is b/f's cousin, so we are always seeing the wrong person/animal when one of us talks of Barney, but most people see the purple dinosaur. Who Julianna LOVES by the way....I bought her a baby Bop (Barney's little friend) for her toilet training gift. Bop also has a bad connotation up here! Hee hee...

The doggie ice cream frosty paws I get at the Grocery Store. some have them buy the dog food in a little freezer and some have them in the ice cream section. They have a cartoon picture of a dog on them. My dog LOVES them so much. But when I give her one (not too often)I cute down on her food a little that day.

Olivia is my fav name too, but I am not to sure about it with our last name. That might be too many o's . Clara is my great g-ma's name and I would love to use it but my hubby does not like it at all. Oh well.

Kim: it sounds like you may be getting close to the ring. and that may have been his way to feel the topic out. Fingers crossed.

Kier: Hubby only has two much older brothers (both married). But it is a great last name...yet very long and many people do not know how to pronounce it.

Well, I had better get back to work.

Trish

45 minutes and I am outta here! Oh, this one guy requested a review and they have been in there for over 2 hours. Is that not weird!

Jen: A few years ago a bunch of people (3 or 4 guys) in the newsroom had babies about the same time and they were all named Emma or Hannah! At the last paper I worked at, there were two Abby's born a few months apart, and a high school friend just had a baby named Abby. I have another high school friend whose daughter is Hannah, and a grade school friend whose daughter is Emily.

So Emma, Hannah, Abby and Emily seem to be the names of choice these days! I had two friends who had boys last year and named them Wyeth and Brady — a little different.

The girls' names I like are Maggie (short for Margaret — my b/f grandmother's name) and Bridget (NOT for Bridget Jones, honest!).
