I started losing weight when I was 49.5 years old, hoping I'd remove some of it prior to my 50th birthday. Although my 53 birthday is approaching and I'm still not at goal, I'm so much happier and healthier, and I do enjoy wearing a smaller size and having more energy. My body works better, feels better and looks a whole lot better at almost 53 than it did in my 40s. It's taking a long, long time, but that's okay. I'd rather be 53 and weigh what I do now than be 53 and weigh what I did when I started this journey.

Yes, when you're older, it does take forever to take off what you can gain in just a couple of days of irresponsible eating. Boy, have I learned that the hard way! But it does eventually come off, and the next time you're tempted to keep up with the thin ones, that little voice in the back of your head will ask, "Is it worth it?" Sometimes the answer is yes, sometimes no. At least that's how it works for me.

I'm betting that by the time you lose all the weight you want to lose, you really won't be too old to do all the stuff you want to do. Other than getting pregnant, I can't think of much that I can't do now based on my age. 50 is the new 30, you know!

Hey if 50 is the new 30 then when I hit 40 next year I will only be 20 right? I argee it's worth the effort and the rewards are going to be great no matter what age you are.
